Making a Stamp/Return Labels - What name do I put?

Megan, on March 23, 2011 at 12:55 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8

Do I put it with his last name, or should I just leave it with our first names? Or should I keep it with our current un-married names?

When are you using these labels? If they are for your thank-you notes after the wedding, use your new name :-) If they are going on the invitations, I would use the names on your invites...Jane Doe and John Smith, etc.

    Don't you just LOVE Vistaprint??

When I did our return labels I just had one name on them. Since I was the one keeping track of everything I just put my maiden name.

Are you referring to the return address lables for your invitations and RSVP cards? If so you should not put his last name only because you guys aren't married yet. I'd put both names or just your first names if having

    John H. Doe

    and

    Jane S. Smith

    looks too bulky...

We wanted to use our stamps after the wedding so just put our 2 first names with my name first.

The return addie has my name only. The RSVP is addressed to me as well. For some reason, and perhaps there is an archaic ettiquette rule that no longer is in effect, but my FH said that is the way it was supposed to be. I don't know the accuracy. He is an old fart. Smiley winking

I ended up just using both of our first names - seemed easiest. I'd like to think that the people we are sending them to will figure out who it is by our combination of names without needing our last names!

I have also seen people just use the address with no names to simplify this. I just used my mom and had her deal with it.

Just don't use his last name yet. It's bad luck.
