If they are offering to help them I would let them help. Based on what you have said it doesn't sound like you would be able to afford a wedding on your own and could use all of the help you can get.

Agreed. People offer to help because they care about you. It's a way of showing they support you and your fiance, and your wedding. It's okay to accept help.

Usually bridesmaids but their own dresses 🙂. Definitely find a free venue, hand me down dress and DIY decorations. I’d put my $100 towards an officiant and leftover for food. Good luck!!

A marriage license costs $70. That leaves you $30. Unless you're eloping at the courthouse and going to a cheap restaurant after, this isn't a realistic budget.

I think you can have a beautiful wedding on a very low budget using the suggestions other people have said, but I just want to throw in a note that 1) you don't have to have a perfect budget, retirement fund, and huge savings account before you get married (finances do cause a lot of divorces, but they also change a lot over time and you just need the skills to discuss them - don't let comments about having perfect finances freak out you) and 2) people offering to help pay for your wedding is not an insult; it's because they love you! Accept the help generously and still try to keep the budget lower if you want to spend less of their money.

I'll be honest, $100 isn't a budget. Even a backyard wedding costs around $3000. I understand that you want to prove to your family that you're an adult and can handle things, but it seems like you're needing a LOT of help just to pull it off. The deeper you go into wedding planning, the more you realize that there are a lot of small essential things that you have to take into account, and that you have to pay for. My advice, take as much help as you can.

FYI your marriage license alone will likely be at least $100. Ours was $115.

Oof, I'm really sorry but this doesn't seem realistic. Not sure what the marriage license fees are in Michigan (since it seems that's where you are), but there is almost always a fee involved when getting married in a public park. I know this because I was a bridesmaid in a close friend's wedding in Michigan last year (held in a public park) and she had to pay $175 for a permit, just to hold 10 min ceremony in the public park. If you really need to keep your budget under $100, then I would suggest getting married at someone's house, ordering a cake from Costo, and serving lemonade. The rest of your budget would go to the marriage license fee.
