Beginner March 2021

March 20, 2021

I know it’s far off but I’m worried about my wedding due to covid. Are people postponing until the end of 2021? I just want to get feed back because I’m trying to be excited and continue planning but it’s super hard to when all I think, read, hear about is covid-19 and especially since a lot of September and October weddings are being rescheduled. Any thoughts on staying positive? Or what are all the March/spring 2021 brides doing?

My photographer says she has limited weekends left in 2021 and she’s currently booking out until June of 2022.
But if you are already in the planning phase and have booked some of your vendors, then I wouldn’t stress. ❤️
And besides, you have plenty of time between now and then. A lot of the ladies I’ve seen posting in here want to stay in their chosen season so it shouldn’t overly impact your planning. Just enjoy picking out your details and know that your fiancé and you are going to have an AMAZING day!

My wedding is 10/10/20 - ZERO plans of rescheduling. The world will not shut down again. If you haven't noticed states are not closing completely as they did in months past. If they do, it would be a bigger economical disaster.

Just plan as you would. If you're worried about Covid now, are you worried about the next disease coming or Swine flu resurfacing (because it is) - Control what you can and stop stressing about the things you can't.

Things to think about...are you ok with cutting down your guest list, potential social distancing at the reception, and mask being at your wedding?

My fiancé and I postponed our July 2020 wedding to February 2021. I do believe social distancing will still be in place. However, we are (now) ok with drastic guest cuts and having restrictions if needed in February.
March is still a long ways away. I think I would wait a bit (at least until the Fall) and then make a decision. Best Wishes.

You've got plenty of time, so I would recommend waiting to see what happens over the next few months before postponing. If things aren't better by December or January, consider postponing at that time. Would your venue/vendors be willing to put a soft hold on a backup date now, just in case? That way, if you do decide to reschedule later on, you'd already have a backup date planned. Otherwise, I recommend to keep planning for your current date, though maybe don't buy anything that has your current date listed on it until time gets closer.

I wouldn’t make any changes because you still have 9 months. None of us Fall brides were postponing 9 months ago... not 6 months ago and not even 3 months ago. So don’t stress right now about something that’s nearly a year away.

My wedding is March 2021 and right now I am continuing to plan as if the wedding will happen. I have spoken to my venue vendor and they stated that they are basically taking things day by day since no one knows what will happen. I would continue to plan, but I definitely get the stressing part. I feel the same exact way, unfortunately.

I'm a 10/10 bride and we are thinking of postponing to April. I'm not sure if that's far enough, but I guess we will have to see. My FBIL and FSIL are getting married in February and they have no plans to change.

I am March 13 and continuing with planning. We are having a small 30 guest wedding so I’m not super worried. I do think it may be more difficult for large weddings to proceed as normal early 2021, but smaller weddings I don’t think will be an issue.
What kind of guest count are you planning?

You have plenty of time, but I think Reena has a good points! You should definitely think through some of the current social distancing measures being implemented for weddings and if you'll be ok with those!

I am the same day as you! All of our vendors are booked. There’s still time, don’t lose hope. Smiley smile

My wedding date is set for same date also march 20, 2021. I am also nervous about going forward with this date and haven't thought of postponing yet. Still hoping that things can get better. I have only booked a few vendors so far, but we have some time to think about keeping the date. Let's see in fall if we can still go forward maybe think about making your guest list smaller.

Thanks everyone! I have such a big family that they take up about 120 people plus friends plus my fiancé’s family. Luckily my venue Can expand or shrink depending on what is happening with the world! I Love all the advice and hope and it’s really calmed me down!
