March Wedding

AF412, on December 9, 2017 at 3:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

We're hoping to secure our venue next week. Assuming all goes as planned, we'll be having a 03-15-19 wedding.

I've been getting inspiration on Pinterest and trying to build a vision of what I want.

Would you consider March a winter or spring season?

I'm torn between some darker winter colors or light spring tones.

March bride here! And I would say it could be considered spring or winter. I have been wondering the same thing myself. It's still really cold and sometimes snows here in NC in March and sometimes it's warmer weather around 60-70° so who knows what our wedding day weather will be like lol. Congrats and it's only 3 months away and coming so quickly I can't believe it!!

We kind of considered it both. It snowed the week before our wedding where we got married, but on our date, we had overcast 70 degree weather and didn't have to move our ceremony indoors.

We just chose a color scheme that we liked and didn't base it on the season. We went with a dusty blue, charcoal gray, and ivory. Our flowers were mostly white with little touches of blue. I think you could have easily called it either winter or spring.

March bride here too! I plan on doing burgundy for the girls, Navy suits on the guys and then burgundy, blush and cream flowers with touches of gold to lighten it up. My venue still considers it winter since we got the winter package for menu and drinks Smiley smile

Catherine - our venue included us in their winter wedding specials, too, despite technically being a few days after the first day of spring.

Im going more with the spring idea of dusty blue and blush but feel like that is the beauty of March...you can do either!

Your date is technically still winter, but spring starts the next week, but you should choose whatever colors you want and go with it!

These are inspiration. I'll honestly just do these for family tables and then wreaths for the other tables with candles

I always thought march was more spring than winter but it really could be either. Technically the majority of March is in the winter though. I’ve always been saying mine is a spring wedding but all my friends and family tease me and call it a winter wedding. I am doing 2 shades of pink and some gray/silver. Which kind of brightens it up into looking more spring than winter I think.

If you're actually in PA (as your profile says), I would call it winter - but you can choose whatever colors you like, it doesn't matter if they're "seasonal" or not

We are doing plum lilac and grey for our March date so it's kinda a bit of both. In Texas who knows it could be winter that morning and spring by the afternoon

Pick whatever colors you want! Bright summer colors, dark winter colors, it doesn't matter.

We're getting married in March, and we're definitely doing spring, but just because we want to. I think it could depend on where you live to determine what season it is if that's important to you. We're getting married in Virginia, so it could snow or be hot, who knows... I agree with PP though, pick whatever colors you want Smiley smile

My wedding is March 31st and I'm having a hard time with colors as well. At first I wanted teal and a soft yellow, then I thought navy and white, then... I'm lost! I will be reading all the suggestions on this thread. I ordered my grandaughters dress from Macy's just to see the fit but the choices of colors were not appealing to me. I need to choose!

For some reason my comment didn't post.

It's technically winter, if we're talking wedding seasons. I got "winter pricing" for my venue since it's still off season. But we're not doing any seasonal colors. I always wanted a chic black and gold wedding so we don't have to worry about fitting whatever weird weather we're having in upstate ny.

I would do whatever colors you want! We are doing gold, ivory and dusty rose so I guess it's more of a spring color, but dark red was my second choice. I let my venue kind of lead the way with the colors I chose, not the season.

I didn't really consider the season in my color choices. We are doing burgundy, blush and gold.
