Margarita Bar

Jessica, on May 22, 2021 at 11:39 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7
After much back and forth about the alcohol selection my fiancé and I have decided to have beer, wine, and margaritas for our wedding. We are having fajita catered for dinner so I’m hoping it will be a fun speciality cocktail that our guests will enjoy, plus we both LOVE margaritas. We have hired 2 bartenders for about 130 expected guests. The bartenders are providing cups, napkins, and garnishes. We have to provide the alcohol. To make it more fun I want to offer a few different kinds of margs. Thinking classic, spicy, and something fruity, probably strawberry. Planning on just infusing a few bottles of tequila with jalapeño beforehand for the spicy, but what’s the best way to prep for a larger volume of a fruit margarita? Also debating a nice mix (we love Tres Agave) vs. fresh?

Following, sorry no advice here. We are having the same exact alcohol menu. We are having a margarita machine with 2 flavors. No garnishes.

Talk to your bartender and see what their suggestions are. That would be awesome with fajitas.

    Who doesn’t love frozen margaritas?

I like making simple syrups for this...boil water + sugar (supposed to be a 1:1 ratio but I do a little less sugar so it doesn’t get too sweet, especially with fruit!) + fruit, then strain the fruit out. ...for margaritas I’d actually probably replace the sugar with agave syrup instead, but otherwise do it all the same. I feel like it stays good for about a week.

I might try this out and see how time consuming it would be to make a big batch. I’ve seen some recipes suggesting jam as well. Thanks!

Find out if the bartenders will provide a frozen drink machine or are they only on the rocks? Also they typically provide alcohol and mixers so you don’t need to worry about the actual recipes since that is part of their job to create recipes based on your requests.

Just do a premade mix and have garnishes, it will be a million times easier than having to make fresh marg's. There are tons of really good ones.
