Claire G And Michael F, on November 4, 2012 at 6:57 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9

Hello Ladies,

My Fiance and I are both Former Marines and are getting married at the National Museum of the Marine Corps on 11/10/2013 the Marine COrps birthday next year. my problem is I want to incorporate the Birthday celebration into the wedding reception and I am having a hard time finding any sort of accessories for this joint celebration. Any Suggestions for sites for DIY invites and accessories?

Take your real name off your profile just for your safety.

Does the Marine Corps do birthday invitations/announcements?

Just a thought - but depending on when the MC Ball is next year that might interfere. I know this year (here, St. Louis) it is on the birthday, November 10, and DH's unit makes everyone attend whether they want to or not (it's so stupid). So if you have a lot of Marines involved that might be a conflict.

JLD all of our Marine Friends are now off of Active Duty. Also our Military Police units never make it mandatory so we are good in that Area.

Nancy, i was able to create a nice USMC invote on Vista Print, now just need favor/decoration ideas

Swords cutting the cake is always a crowd pleaser!

I saw several cute ideas on here -- http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=patriotic+wedding+theme&qpvt=patriotic+wedding+theme&FORM=IGRE

Definitely cutting the cake with the sword!!

    Sparklers?, stars?, red/white/blue decor? flags?.

Personally, I think burgundy, navy and cream is a little more classy / formal looking...but that's my opinion.

I've been seeing the star garland in all colors, incl. red/white/blue/silver/gold at all the dollar stores (Dollar Tree, etc.) lately with Veterans Day coming up...will probably see them again near July 4th. And I love the heart shape flag decorations.

depending on your DJ and / or event decor vendor you may be able to find one that can do uplighting (like red and blue on white pipe drape) or a DJ that could do stars on the ceiling or an EGA on the dance floor??
