Markers to write on mirrors?

Stephanie, on August 9, 2016 at 12:51 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 6

So I have kind of a vintage glam theme going for my wedding at this historic estate, and I found this BEAUTIFUL vintage gold framed mirror at the flea market! I'd love to use it at our venue, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on white types of markers to use to write on it. I'm assuming grease markers would work, but I'd appreciate any advice! Thanks!

I just googled "markers to write on mirrors" and there are a ton of tutorials and pens that you can use. I suggest googling it and reading the tutorials so you can find what will fit your vision best.

Are you looking for the writing to be able to be erased or permanent? If erasable, dry erase markers would work. If your ok with permanent, any type of paint pen should do the trick.

I'd like to be able to remove the writing after which has been my dilemma. I had heard that dry erase markers sometimes leave a mark after, but that seems to depend on the mirror maybe?

I write on my bathroom mirror with dry erase, it comes off and I just use windex to get rid of the mark. If it fogs up you can kinda see it.

I've used chalk pens and dry erase on mirrors for events. Both work great! In order for it to not leave a mark, just make it a point to not keep the writing on for long. Clean it off after the event instead of putting it away in storage for months and forgetting about it.

Oil based paint pens or a chalk marker works best!
