Marriage license question

Bella, on March 5, 2021 at 12:06 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 6
Hi everyone
I’m getting married in the church & someone I know is officiating my wedding. My question is am I suppose to get married in court before the big ceremony? Or it could be after I do the ceremony at the church? Can you tell me what you did when it came to this?

Your pastor/officiant should be able to sign a marriage license. Check your county requirements online but you should be able to get a married license from the county and give that to the officiant

You should just get married at your ceremony in the church?

Why can't I he officiant be the one to legally marry you? Does he or she not meet your state's requirements?

You officiant should be ordained or licenses to marry you. They will sign your marriage license after your ceremony, which makes you legally married. Then they will send it to your county clerk or ROD office.

This depends on where you live. I don't know where you are, but in the US, two ceremonies are not required. Talk to your officiant and ask them when you should apply for your license. The rest should be handled by them.
