Marriage license

T.c, on April 15, 2020 at 2:56 PM Posted in Florida Planning 0 8
Marriage licenses are only good for 60 days in my state (fl). My issue that I was still planning to elope in June, but all of the government offices are closed. I havent found a county that offers online options. Anyone else dealing with this? Have you found any ways around it?

If you want it to be legal, you'll have to wait till offices open for business.

    Hi T.C.

Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with the state offices in your area. But, I wanted you to know I am thinking about you. I hope you are able to get married soon!

Sending lots of love your way!

Hi TC! Thankfully you've got almost two months until then, so there's lots of time for the situation to change and for new processes to develop! I'd monitor things with your county clerk through late May to see if they've opened in any capacity (limited hours or by appointment only), or to see if they've developed a new special procedure for handling marriage applications.

For example, Duval County's website says they're working towards implementing an appointment-based virtual application process and Orange County has developed an Emergency Marriage License Phone Line for couples with weddings planned within the next two weeks!

Yea, I’m very hopeful. It’s a little nerve racking, but I’m so thankful this is the extent of our worries. I’m actually in Duval. I’m patiently waiting. That’s good to know about Orange County! Thank you!

Yes, just wondering if there are others going through the same.

Definitely nerve-wracking!! The marriage license process can be confusing on a good day, so dealing with a pandemic and government closures understandably makes it totally insane!
