Married Brides! How many guests didn't show up?

To all your happily married brides out there, how many of your guests RSVP'd yes but then didn't show up? I keep hearing expect 25% to no show! Can it be??

We had 110 rsvp that they would be there and only 2 no-shows but both notified us the night before (my MOH 's fiancé could not miss orientation for work and my aunt couldn't make the 5 hour drive and realized it last minute...) 25% doesn't seem accurate, that's ALOT!

We had 177 invited. and one no show that we heard about the night before not coming. Really stupid reason too. Mostly adults not knowing how to be adults

We did however have 4 people not give cards of any kind. One of them being the best man, found that part super odd.

We had 2 no-shows out of 170 marked attending (also there were 2 who could do ceremony only and 2 would could do reception only). that being said, by two weeks before the wedding (well past RSVP deadline) I had 150 rsvp's of yes and 60 (I repeat SIXTY) people who had failed to RSVP. Ultimately, there were about 4 people we just COULD NOT get ahold of and assumed correctly that they weren't coming. Also, one family added one of their children to the RSVP despite the request for no children unless explicitly invited. We politely told them that we would get back to them as to if there would be room for her because of how many people were denied their children but it turned out that it hadn't even dawn on them that the kids weren't invited and they were so sorry about the mixup, didn't even want to bring the kids. Final advice: we put our wedding website on the back of the invite and 80% of our recipients didn't see it. Spread the word! (plus, unless a family has a child of marrying age, people aren't aware that wedding websites are a thing yet).

We had 13 people that had to cancel at the last minute. Unfortunately it was after the final count was due so we did have to pay for them. That was out of 150 guests.

I had 3 people not show up who RSVP'd yes (one family). The husband has been having some bad health issues so the wedding completely slipped their mind.

2 no shows out of 88. One was sick and one was taking care of her sick kid ( in both cases the husbands still came).

No complete no-shows, but had at least 10 people (out of 219) cancel the week of. They called, though.

Out of 370, we had 17 no shows that RSVP'd yes.

    5% no show

One was sick, 8 of them messaged us on the day of that they would make the ceremony, but not the reception; and the others said nothing.

With my first marriage I had about 6 no shows but that was made up by the ones who brought extra guest. I would worry more about that then no shows.

Both are very ride things to do!

Ah, good point about it being more than just brides in the forum... sorry everyone! I was in a little panic when I wrote this! I will be more inclusive next time.

About 50% of our guests are about 3-4 hours away. 20% are spread out farther. The rest are local. It would be great if everyone made it but I have a hard time believing it will be the case due to some reason or another. My invites went out Monday so I will find out soon enough!

Thank you to all who have and will respond! You are easing my worry. Smiley smile

I think that's about right because from all 130 adults we invited that RSVP with a yes I counted at the end about 20 no shows. That's a bummer cause I understand but at the same time I could have saved some money but that's how it goes sometimes. Don't worry as long as your loved ones are there that's all that matters. Smiley smile
