Married ladies... Do you wear YOUR rings every day?

Danielle's post got me thinking about the flip side of men wearing/not wearing their rings... I was with DH 4 years before we were engaged, and I never got used to wearing the ring every day. I work from home a lot, so many days I wake up and just don't put it on. It's a family piece, not something...

I work from home a lot, so many days I wake up and just don't put it on. It's a family piece, not something he bought, but I don't think that's why - I think honestly, in my heart before I had a ring, I felt married so now I don't feel like adding a ring changes the way I feel. Or, maybe it really is just that the rings aren't what I'd have chosen for myself, though I do like them. Not sure. Either way, I often forget to put them on when I'm running errands or other stuff, though I always wear them if I'm going to the office, or we're going on a date.

With SO much emphasis/advertising/hype about rings, I wonder: am I the only one like this?

I wear mine everyday if I'm out. I usually don't wear them around the house though.

I work from home and really only wear it when I go out. I'm one where the first thing I do when I get home is take my jewelry off and switch into leggings so it would feel weird to have a ring on at home. The only time I wear it at home is when we have people over. I just put it on when I go out which is probably 2 days a week on average. When we get married I plan to get a very simple plain band to wear on days when I don't want to wear my diamond because I really don't like going out without my ring which I do now if I going to the park or something where I don't feel comfortable wearing it. So I figure getting a plain band will be a good solution for that. FH is getting a gold band that goes with, if doesn't match, my ring and a cheaper band for when he goes camping and such.

I do always wear my ring when I go out (except as I mentioned to the park and such) but I totally relate to the feeling married already bit. My FH and I always say we have considered ourselves married for years now. He always calls me his wife/wifey and I laugh because it confuses people when he then talks about the wedding.

I wear my wedding band 24/7 but my e-ring goes into a ring box when I go to bed and right back on when I get up.

For those of you who do not regularly wear your ring(s) daily, do you expect your FH or DH to wear his all the time? I see a little bit of a double standard on these threads that I find fascinating...

I still need to get my e-ring tightened, but I won't be wearing it to my new job. I haven't taken my band off though and neither has DH.

@Angela, my DH never wore jewelry either but he has not taken his off. He even sleeps with it. No one is more surprised about it than me. I haven't even said anything to him because I don't want to jinx it haha!

The only time I take my rings off is when I have to clean with bleach or when I shower. Other then that, They stay right on that finger.

The only time i take mine off in for a shower, otherwise its on my finger, it seems weird without ( i'm not married yet, but engagement ring is always there, and i will always wear my wedding band as well, once we get married)

@Danielle - that wouldn't be fair if to hold him to a different standard! DH wears his about the same amount and times I wear mine, except he works with his hands and is around chemicals so he sometimes doesn't wear it to work. But if we're going out to dinner, or to see family, a date night, or a job interview or something he always wears it. It doesn't bother me.

When we first got engaged, he wanted a ring too Smiley smile We bought his wedding band shortly after that, and he actually wore it a ring the time (a cheaper version in stainless steel) - but then by the time we got married, I think it was annoying him (it is a medium-wide band). I wanted him to get a thinner band, but he thought they were too plain looking. So funny.

I always wear my wedding ring--we got a plain, solid gold band so I wouldn't have to worry about hurting it. My engagement ring I've taken off for exceptionally heavy/dirty farm work, where I'm concerned I might snap the diamond off or bend the prongs. I also will be leaving it home when we travel abroad in a couple weeks. But I normally wear both rings all the time.

ETA: Re: DH wearing his ring: he also got a plain gold band that matches mine (except it is a good bit bigger!) and to my knowledge he hasn't taken it off for more than 5 minutes since we got married. We intentionally bought rings we could wear all the time. He had never worn jewelry before, either. It was a transition that came with marriage.

We had my ring designed so I could wear it pretty much all the time. Its a bezel set morganite, which is a "pretty hard" stone (7.5 or 8) I don't wear it for yard work, house work or really in depth cooking (getting messy!) but pretty much everything else, yup!

We even bought a "kick around" ring (a rose gold wheat print band) for the things I don't want to wreck my "real" rings on, or traveling somewhere I would worry about taking my actual rings.

I wear mine every day and only take them off to: Clean, wash dishes, cook (if its messy), swim (teach lessons and I scratch kids with it), shower and hard work. I usually wear them to bed also, but AZ in the summer makes my hands swell so its a case by case basis if I take them off at night or leave them on. I dislike not wearing them though!

I wear my engagement ring 24/7. I feel like it's safer on my hand than off, and I have it insured. It gets cleaned occasionally.

Right now, it's with the jeweler getting the wedding band added and I'm going crazy without it! Before engagement, I never really wore any rings.

I even wear mine when I accidentally scratch myself or FH with it (it's a princess cut that's set a bit high, so it has some corners!) ...it's a scratch of love!

I stopped wearing it every day after I got a pretty bad scare (it went into the back seat of a cab and we had to detach the entire seat and its base to get it out). I only wear my wedding band every day, and the engagement ring when we go out.

I wear mine 24/7 with the exception of two pregnancies when my fingers got too fat. Smiley sexy Of course, I like rings and wore one before DH gave me my engagement ring, so I was already used to the 'feel' of a ring on my finger.

I wear mine every second of every day. They do not come off. DH and I were together 6 years before getting married. Unlike a lot of the other ladies here, I most definitely did NOT feel married already. It was a very big deal to me to actually get the ring and wear it, so they don't ever come off.

My FH aunt didn't feel comfortable wearing hers, as she was afraid to lose it or get her finger smashed at work. So she wears hers on a necklace instead

I have seen most of the girls wear. My mother still wears it. Its as if it is a part of her life and a sign of her love and trust in her husband
