Wow. This whole month has been unreal. From determinedly fighting to keep our 4.11.2020 date, to tears and crying and numbness and fights, endless phone calls to vendors trying to figure out what was happening; watching the news as the guest number allowance went down every day... we went from planning to do a quick wedding 4.3.2020 to deciding last minute to get married yesterday, by 5 pm when our state went into a stay at home order.
It was a crazy busy day trying to decorate the small chapel on campus at our church, and trying to coordinate a rehearsal and get the wedding started. I felt kind of rushed getting ready and I was super nervous, everything felt so surreal, and I was having trouble processing what was happening. The moment I linked arms with my dad and started walking down the aisle I felt so calm. Except for the shaking.
We had our parents, siblings, My grandparents, and the musicians, officiant, and the parents of our flower girls there. It was a beautiful and intimate ceremony. I sang a song to my husband to be after our unity candles. I think I was the only one that didn’t cry!
Our original photographer was still able to come out to take pictures for us and we are super grateful! We pushed our big ceremony back to June 8th with our venue and catering.
