Marrying a FIREFIGHTER

Wedding , on December 10, 2017 at 12:29 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

Does anyone know of a ceremony tradition or something I could do to incorporate the firefighters?

Maybe I could invite some of his closest firefighter friends and have them walk in right before him and salute/high five... idk something.

Any ideas ?

I've heard of some stories of firefighters and brides arriving and/or leaving through a firetruck. If your FH wants to incorporate his coworkers, maybe they could line up the sidewalk to the entrance or something?

I've had a number of couples arrive/leave via truck, but it really is his choice.

When I write a ceremony that includes a firefighter, police officer or military person, I always mention that their choice of a career in public service tells us a lot about their commitment to society, or words to that effect.

Hi! I'm marrying a firefighter too, yay Smiley smile I would ask him what he wants. My FH did not want anything fire related at the wedding but then he saw that you can rent out old fire cars to drive away in and he fell in love with that (although I still have yet to find a place that does that). Also, I don't know if you have heard the tradition of FF guests that steal your wedding cake and hide it. This might only be a thing where I live but I have no joke seen it happen at multiple FF weddings so just watch out for that lol

I am the firefighter in our wedding and even though it's my whole life I won't be having much fire rescue stuff at the wedding. My Chief has told me that we can use our parade fire engine for our exit if it is still running. I'll be getting pictures in my gear and dress but that's about it. Definitely not wearing my uniform as I want a wedding dress.

My fiance' is also a firefighter, as well as 3 of our groomsmen. I didn't incorporate any special tradition but I did choose this for my garter.

I had it personlized by having his last name stitched in the back. Smiley smile

My oldest married a firefighter and we had the rind bearer carry a toy firetruck (a large one), with the rings attached by ribbon to the ladder (which was extended) down the aisle.

Back when I was involved with emergency response my best friend and I (she's a FF) thought it would be fun someday to incorporate the trucks, especially the tower.

At her wedding she didn't have any overt FF customs...but a favor she had was little stress balls in the shape of ambulances and firetrucks with their name and date on them. I thought they were cute and I still have them Smiley smile

We went to a wedding and the bride's dad was a firefighter and her husband is a firefighter as well. They surprised their guests with the nyc emerald society (bagpipes)

    It was awesome

But like pp, ask him what he wants

I'm marrying a FF and the absolute most he is interested in in having at our wedding is something subtle like this ring pillow. I framed his last name off some old turnout gear a while back that I might bring for photos but even that is a maybe..
