Mary Kay Bridal win treatment

Nola, on July 2, 2019 at 11:39 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 20
So I just got a email from this sales director from David’s bridal and she said I won a facial treatment along with a foundation match and prizes as well as gift cards.. I just want to know if it’s a scam?? Did anyone else get this sort of thing? Please comment. She also said she would come to us and give us the treatment or come to her home where she runs it.

It was just kind of meh. The lady was sweet and all and explained things but it was kind of dull. The products were nice but I’m not paying $25+ for each product

Darn so they kind of expect you to buy the products at the end ?? And was the facial nice at all or was it kind of basic

Mary Kay is an MLM. They'll give you the facial all while trying to hock their overpriced products on you. 🙄 I doubt the prizes are any good and the gift cards are probably "towards purchase" of MK products and not actually gift cards.
And yes, the facial will be basic from a lady with no background of esthetician, dermatology, massage, or anything similar.
Honestly the stress of a high pressures sale pitch the whole time would kill it for me even if it was good. Plus, I don't support MLMs.

I "won" the free facial spa thingy after going to a bridal show. I decided to go with it because it's free so why not. Plus it was a good chance to get a bunch of my girls together. We ended up making a night of it. Since we did azazie for our dresses, we ordered a couple sample dresses per girl and did a small fashion show after the facial. Each girl picked out their dress in the end! Overall, we all actually had fun with the facial thing. Yea it was kind of stupid if you step back and look at it, but it's all about who you are with and how you handle it. Just be good at saying no when it comes down to them pulling out the catalog lol

We had to fill out a paper with our “wish list” of what we would consider buying. No card info or anything though
The facial itself was “here’s this product that does this, try it on your face by rubbing in circles” “here’s this, it helps to close pores. Dab it then wait to dry” etc.

I use Mary Kay and would not use anything else. People always compliment me on my face and lack of acne or other issues. Yes you are offered the chance to buy their products but it is not required. They are all great products. Pricy yes but very comparable to prices elsewhere.

I got a call too saying that I won a free facial after my appointment with david's bridal. I initially agreed to this. The lady was supposed to come to my house and do this with me, and possibly a few more girls. I ended up changing my mind and cancelled.

I just did one of those this weekend, me and a friend. Like everyone says it's basically a sales pitch with a little "rub that on your skin and see how nice it feels." It's also a bit braggy. The lady kept telling how working at Mary kay she makes good money now and gets free cars and trips and it's such a great place for women to work. They need to understand not everyone cares to work in sales, especially for products that everyone doesn't need or care for.

I got this same exact email when I purchased my dress. I didn't get one about gift cards but about the facial treatment. To me it sounded sketchy so I left it alone.

I won that and its not what you think it is. I went to it with the people I invited and it was us with about 7 other groups sitting at there tables. Its more like a they show you how to put it on and you do it yourself. No one applies it on you thinking its a normal facial. On the plus side I got a $25 gift certificate. Now I did use it that day because I don't use Mary Kay so I got a facial mask. Its up to you but I wasn't happy and I felt kind of embarrassed that I invited a bunch of friends and it was more like a Mary Kay Party than a spa day getting facials. It wasn't relaxing at all.

Everyone "wins" this (David's Bridal sells their client info to MK, for instance). The facial is definitely not an actual facial. The salespeople are not licensed estheticians, so they cannot apply any products to your face; you will be applying all the products yourself and then pressured to purchase or sign up as a salesperson yourself.

Definitely skip it and just buy makeup and skincare wherever you usually do.

I had someone contact me for the same thing via text. I went to a bridal expo and they gave us all raffle tickets to put in for each vendor to win whatever prize they were offering. This woman sent me a text a couple of months ago and said they picked a second winner because it was such a popular one and I was it. I scheduled her to come to my mom's house at the end of May to do it for 4 of us (she said I could have a couple other people) and she never showed up. I sent her multiple text messages and called several times and still nothing. To this day I have still not heard from her. I don't know if it was a scam or if she was just an awful representative but I was not happy that I wasted mine and everyone else's time for nothing.

My mom & I entered a restaurant gift card drawing awhile ago and we both "won" a Mary Kay treatment (I'm confident she just called all the women who entered). I'm not a Mary Kay fan, or a fan of the pushing sales tactics so neither of us went.

It's not a scam if through Mary Kay. I did it. We met up at the lady's Mary Kay place. I wasn't impressed and my face broke out. It took me about 2 months for my face to clear up. It's just you putting on samples of their products. I didn't buy anything the two times I went (once with a friend who won one). They prefer it obviously, but it's not mandatory to buy anything.

Exactly. It was free so I couldn’t complain but it was more of a “try this product”

I am a Mary Kay consultant, and it is not a scam. I personally love the product and never pressured anyone into purchasing any products.

I think it's a great way to have fun with friends and the products are on par or below your department store brands, like Estee Lauder and all.

Either way congratulations on your engagement!!!
