Maryland Outdoor Wedding Date

Fairyfish, on November 6, 2018 at 8:10 PM Posted in Maryland Planning 0 6

Does anyone in Maryland or nearby have experience with an outdoor wedding in May or June? I'm curious when the temperature will be better? I don't want to sweat my makeup off but I also don't want to be cold in my awesome dress.

We’re getting married in May in Maryland! May weather can still be so hit or miss, but June is when it really gets hot. Either month you choose, make sure you have an indoor backup plan!

I just got married in October, but I would pick May. June can get pretty scorching unpredictably

    Hello Fairyfish!

The average weather for the beginning of May in Maryland ranges from 54 degrees to 71 degrees. For the end of May, it ranges from 60 degrees fahrenheit to 77 degrees fahrenheit. In the beginning of June, the temperature could be between 64 degrees fahrenheit to 80 degrees fahrenheit. At the end of June its usually between 71 degrees fahrenheit and 87 degrees fahrenheit.

What time are you thinking of having your ceremony? The day might be cooler the closer it gets to sunset! Just something to consider if you're worried about it being too hot Smiley smile

Thank you everyone for your advise! You are all wonderful! I think May is the best for the wedding and once I consider timelines, I'll plan closer to the evening than early. Smiley smile

I work at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club on Kent Island. We are right on the bay. May is a great month, although can be a little rainy. Maryland has typically quick showers. We can hold off a ceremony for a small bit of time and get chairs dried and then proceed. Even if you did June or July, you are only outside a small amount of time. Even if cocktail hour was outside there is still a good breeze. Also, keep in mind your ceremony will be much later in the day and the sun won't be so high which will cool it off too. Good luck!! Sandi
