Maryland Wedding Venues 300 people!!! Sunday deals??

amitha, on November 2, 2017 at 1:44 PM Posted in Maryland Planning 0 33

Hello to my fellow to be brides ! Looking for cheap-affordable wedding venues in the DMV area. 300 People Sunday wedding. If I could have a ceremony as well in that same place that would be great. I want a simple romantic ceremony with chivari chairs and candles/ flowers.

No venue that large will be cheap in the DMV area in May. What's your budget?

Funny, I think I responded to you on FB Smiley smile We do Sunday weddings quite often where I work. The food and beverage minimum is a bit lower as is the venue fee. (this is assuming that it is not a holiday weekend) Are you inviting 300 or planning on 300 to be there?

May is prime season. Chiavari chairs, in my area, are 3.00 each.

What's your budget? 300 guests anywhere will not be cheap.

Candles and flowers will most likely be an added expense. We do include the chivari chairs, ivory linens and china, flatware and crystal.

Celia - my friend's wedding venue in GA charges $5.50 per chiavari chair. Granted hers is an upscale venue.

I'd assume the DMV area would be somewhere between that?

An inclusive venue could alone be $30,000. That's only $100 per person and on the east coast, that's typical. You'll still have all the other things: florals, photographer, videographer (if needed), ETC. The easiest way to have a budget friendly wedding is to cut the guest list and a 300 person list is large and should be fairly easy to cut.

I would love either clear or gold chivari chairs but all the places in my area are around 7-11 a chair !!

    Try looking through wedding-spot.com

is the 20k for just the food and venue or the entire wedding?

300 people anywhere at any time of the year is going to be pricey just because of the sheer amount of people but especially in a area like DMV where the COL is so high.. I would think of maybe cutting back on the guests like

From what I've read on here it seems that the DMV area is expensive. My wedding will be in the Chicago suburbs, less than 200 people and I'm at $25K right now. Honestly I'm not doing anything particularly extravagant either. So I'm not sure if $20-$30K is doable or not.

I'm having a Sunday brunch wedding for 80 and it'll be over $25k in Frederick, MD.

Some suggestions are The Strong Mansion (my venue in Dickerson, MD), Morningside Inn, Ceresville Mansion, Springfield Winery

I live in the DMV and though I'm now doing a destination wedding with less than 30 now, I remember feeling that this newer hotel in College Park at UMD was very reasonable. https://www.thehotelumd.com/weddings-occasions/

It might not quite be in budget--I think it was $120 pp and up, but it included a lot. Compared to what I had been seeing in the DC area! And at least they can also accommodate the larger guest list. They have menus and info on the site.
