On the entertainment front, we are considering hiring improv comedy show or a jazz band and putting cute vintage lounge furniture in clusters so people can enjoy a show vs the normal dancing. It’s very different but we’re trying to get creative!

Yes!! This is all giving me so much anxiety, We are booked for May 23, 2021! When we booked in the spring it seemed that there would be no way for Covid to still be barrier, now every time I turn the News on I loose a little more hope! I keep telling myself there is plenty of time between now and May; I'm making myself wait to see what's happening in January before making any decisions. However have included Covid policies in all my vendor contracts to protect us if there is still an issue!

I’m glad your is covered we booked before it hit so it doesn’t have Covid in anything
I’m glad u have in ur contracts and I hope it’s gone by end of winter but like you said it’s going on a lot longer than they said in beginning and every time they give us something good we go back 10 steps so it’s depressing

No dancing no bar so we decided if that can’t happen still and doesn’t change then we go have a backyard wedding and lose our venue because I’m not paying for no celebration without those it’s just a gathering for a meet and greet

We're in the planning process and I'm looking to secure a date for Nov 2021. I'm hoping by Nov of next year things will be better and I could have my full guest list with dancing etc. I think for us worse case we would get married on the date and maybe do a reception in 2022 if necessary. It's so stressful! Not to mention a lot of dates we're interested in are already taken due to 2020 brides pushing to 2021!

That a beautiful place I hope things get lifted by spring but soon as I feel like there’s a little hope we take 10 steps back idk it’s Sad we know what we don’t want to do or have but we have only 2 option to go with it both I’m not completely happy with but it is what it’s we just have to hope for the best I guess just wish they had a better timeline for things to open would make it a lot less stressful ours is 25 no dance floor no cocktail hour if we go with restrictions and that we refuse to do

We still have some time to decide, so set a date where you need to make a final decision by, ideally before your next major payment is due, and try to enjoy the little wedding planning moments until then. We really can’t do much anyway haha. I just got our save the dates in, and it still is exciting to share those with our immediate family and to see it on our fridge. I’m also looking up how to make margarita slushies for if we do our backyard wedding! We won’t have the whole wedding experience like we thought we would, but remember that you are still in control of what you make of this!

In a similar boat! Our wedding date is currently scheduled for 8/7/2021, which once felt very far off, but I'm also wondering how things will look by then. So far we've booked a venue, the photographer, and a DJ, but my optimism has definitely faded over the past few months, so stalling on sending out any save the dates or taking any next steps. Hoping early 2021 will provide some clarity on whether to keep pushing forward with planning or start implementing the back-up plan (outdoor micro-wedding)! Wish you the best of luck!

It's definitely not ideal to be in this situation, but that's what we ended up doing for our miniwedding and, while it was kind of a lot of work, it ended up being perfect for us. Hopefully it won't be an issue for you, but if it is (or you just want to be overly prepared for multiple options) feel free to let me know if you want any suggestions on how to plan that.

I'm semi freaking out myself as my April 21 wedding will now be in the backyard...and we all know how April weather can be. We are renting tents and will have tent heaters but I'm still super nervous. Our honeymoon is already booked and I really didn't want to move the date. We canceled our original plans as our venue is still closed. Another thing is my dress is super fancy...hoping to just say screw it and wear it proudly and not look silly lol. I mean it might be in the yard but I'm still the bride. Anyone else know what I'm sayin?!? Ugh...we'll get through this!

My venue is also Glen Magna (June 19), when is your date? So nice to meet another Glen Magna bride Smiley smile

I went ahead and sent out the save the dates last week in hopes the wedding can happen as planned (invited 200 expecting 150 in a non-COVID world) but understand I need to be flexible and open to pivot as needed once we learn more. Definitely starting to feel really sad that cases continue to trend so negatively and outlook isn't great right now. Was trying to remain optimistic that there's still a lot of time for things to change for the better but it's been harder to stay positive lately. I'd be thrilled if the max cap was 100 outdoors by the time late Spring rolls around (as I think it was at some point in MA before they took it down to 50), as half of my guest list are out of towners anyways and won't be offended if they ultimately couldn't come. Going from 100 to 50 will definitely be a tougher decision making process..

My fiance and I will have been engaged two years by this summer and although June '21 was always our original date, can't imagine pushing it out another year and stressing over planning for another 12+ months - I think we will just go forward with a small wedding if there are tons of restrictions still in place by then.

We postponed to 2022 but still want to get married on our original date 3-13-21. However with Boston weather and the current state of things, we don’t know what we’ll do.

We got engaged in June of 2019 and settled on May 29, 2021 (Memorial Day weekend!) last February, with our venue Old Sturbridge Village. We were so pumped, everything was going perfectly, and then COVID hit. We were still hoping to hold onto it, but the Village eventually had to return the deposit we put down, and lay off their events staff indefinitely. I think they're nervous they won't make it through this thing, which sucks because they're so iconic, and it's such a classic Mass location! They told us that, if the state allows it, they will reopen and keep the dates of the people who had them booked then. So it's daunting- do we stick to our guns (save the dates already sent before we got this news) and cross our fingers and hope we'll be okay, still? Or do we tell all our guests that we're postponing for another year? Ugh.

All the power to you fellow brides who are cool with smaller/backyard weddings, that's awesome that you won't let things get in your way and are still prioritizing keeping your loved ones safe. I wish I could let go of the original picture I had in my head of ours, but I can't. We were also planning on an outdoor ceremony/indoor reception, inviting 100, expecting about 80-- which didn't seem like a lot to ask for at the time. I don't want to budge on the group number or the location, so it looks like we may be left waiting for another year (or two? If we're not lucky).
Every time I hear about a vaccine, I can't help but think about all this all over again. I'm glad to know I'm not alone in this regard.

I’m so sorry I feel your pain it’s hard to let go of what you imagine for your wedding day. Ours was in Salisbury ceremony on the beach reception inside 100 guest and everything booked all deposits in next venue payment due in February so we have till then to decide it’s so stressful. I’m praying once vaccines out things open but that’s hopefully thinking doubt will actually happen I plan on mailing save the dates in December January the latest for our august wedding. I hope mass opens soon and we all can get the day we imagined if this pandemic taught us anything it’s we need to celebrate and enjoy the time with our loved ones more often because life is short so I pray we are all ok for 2021 because it’s hard to think of letting it go and having a backyard wedding but if we have to what matters is marrying the one you love surrounded by loved ones and have a beautiful day/night
I hope it works out for you which ever you decide
