I was planning my wedding on May 21st 2021 for the second time now I have moved it because my venue remains closed in Massachusetts and my new date is September 10th 2021. I have no idea how I feel about this going forward.

Same mines august I keep praying things will open because bakers opening plan said phase 4 will open when vaccine is available not that everyone was vaccinated. He lifted few things starting today so I hope it keeps going and he does what he said for phase 4. My venue is optimistic they think we should be ok by august but given us to May before next payment instead of this month. And giving us up to 2 weeks before wedding to cancel or postpone if not open which is nice but I want it to happen.
I understand completely it’s stressful enough planning without the added stress from pandemic. Stressing do I keep planning paying for things buying things and hope for the best or do I stop now save money and postpone
I’m sorry and I hope your wedding happens as well I’m open to any suggestions also

I have paid $4000 down, postponed now third time, they have been amazing! Not asking for any more payments, we'll touch base I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm trying so hard to stay positive! I'm not buying favors, any other wedding stuff, just flowers as needed!! I'm not motivated! The Governor changes weekly, I just don't know! Good Luck 🤞

Hey! I'm right there with you, we were July 2021 but we just postponed to July 2022. We sent out save the dates out for our 2021 date and we now just have to send new ones for 2022, but everyone we've talked to is very understanding and flexible with all the changes.

Ya I don’t want to postpone just yet vaccine here and think things will start opening or atleast that’s what everyone I talk to keeps saying so I’m trying to be optimistic and continue with planning it’s just hard to be excited when so much uncertainty

Hey fellow MA bride here! We have already postponed twice since last year and i am praying we don't have too again! Our wedding is in June and my venue changed their rules saying we cannot postpone again until two months before or we lose our deposit, so it is just a waiting game (which stresses me out lol). I hope baker follows through and starts opening up more, but his vaccine rollout is moving so slow. Best of luck to all the brides here in MA!

Tell me about it! I feel like everything is moving so slow! and there is so much unknown, I just wish we could see a more detailed & up to date reopening plan; I feel like at this point some of the plan is outdated. We are supposed to be in May, but beginning to discuss rescheduling to September, then come September will settle for what we can have.

I agree it’s to slow and definitely needs to give an update on reopening plan now that vaccine here and numbers going down! He avoids mentioning anything about reopening and it’s getting very upsetting
I wish you luck and hope your wedding can happen in May for you !

I know! He also had stated that once a vaccine was available he would open up more such as dance floors, ballrooms etc and he hasn't mentioned anything! I don't blame you at all, i tried for the fall but my vendors were booked. So I either settle for June or push another year (at this rate I don't even know if 2022 will change here lol) Best of luck to you!

Hi, I have a September 2021 wedding planned. Our venue is open but they are not allowing a dance floor and only 25 inside right now. They also aren’t allowing a bar but drinks are okay if served at the table. I am going back and forth on what to do myself. Thankful to have this place to talk and see what everyone else is doing

I’m curious how they’re allowing 25? From what I understand, the whole state is 10 inside (but 25 outside) right now.

I am determined to believe the limits will increase since last summer we ended up pretty high...but maybe not up to what we would ideally want (at least 150). We’re September too, planning on a re-evaluation in April. I’m resigned to no dance floor at this point, just hoping for limits to go up!

Right now the inside limit is 25 and outside limit is 50. It could increase or decrease in the coming months

    Hi,

We are supposed to be May, but deciding in the week to push until September or not. We really don't want to push out any further than that; or have to deal with rescheduling multiple times. I'm so torn as to how different we can expect things to be in May vs September, but 100% could not have a wedding with <50, which is already asking for more which is currently allowed. Making a decision based off what we hope will happen is frustrating & we just wish we could have some guidelines announced.

I do wish we would hear an update. I mean I understand they don’t know and have to look at numbers but atleast if we were aware of when he would like to reopen. I know it’s step 4 but thet could be a long time from now. Just wish they would give a possible estimate for summer and fall

I am so sorry this is such a stressful time. If weddings weren’t stressful enough before covid. I am trying to remain calm but I am definitely starting to stress out a bit more myself the closer we get to September with not much updates on the reopening plan.

I must have missed an update, sorry! It’s all so confusing! This makes me about 25% more hopeful for the summer/fall, though.

Our nerves got the best of us and we pushed our wedding reception scheduled for July 2021 to June 2022 (we already had a minimony June 13, 2020) The big thing for us was folks coming from out of town and people maybe not quite feeling completely safe yet. We may get to June and everything would be OK. I hope for everyone here going for 2021 it all works out!!

Same I just contacted venue to try to find new date for 2022 nerves and the unknown is to much so hopefully they have something available and my vendors are available same date so don’t need to start over
Hope 2021 still works out for everyone but mass is so behind compared to everywhere else
