May 2021 weddings

on October 24, 2020 at 6:10 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
With Covid cases reportedly higher than they’ve been since May, is anyone else freaking out over their May wedding? We postponed our reception twice already and I dont even know what to think since for a while it seemed things were getting better. Thoughts?

My big wedding is March 2021 and I'm not making a decision until January on whether to postpone or not

Yes! I am concerned. We are thinking of scaling back our guest list

If you postponed twice, I’d go forward with the wedding already. A third postponement is too much and waiting on the ”perfect” time is completely unknown. At this point, we have to get used to living this life the best that we can. In June, when COVID was still new, we postponed our October 2020 wedding to October 2021. If our wedding was local, we would have moved forward with it. But with everyone needing to travel to and stay the weekend in Vegas, we pushed the pause button. But it’s been nearly 8 months with the pandemic and we all know what we’re dealing with. So we’ve just gotta keep living life as safely as possible. All of our weddings will be a blast and, in my opinion, even more special now. Best wishes!!!

We aren’t freaking out, because there is nothing we can do about it. The best we can do is plan a contingency plan alongside our regular plan, stay connected with our venue and vendors, focus on what we can control, and be mentally prepared for both scenarios.

Our wedding is in May and our limit is 100. Our venues said the number should be fine for a May wedding in 2021. Some won’t attend because of COVID and it’s totally understandable. If we have to scale back our guest we will God willing we will still get married on our date.

I’m June 2021, and my fiancé and I already cut the guest list in half so 46 guests and have been buying sanitizers and masks little by little and already reworked the wedding timeline to adhere to safety guidelines and what not. So we feel confident because we already planned taking into consideration all of the cdc guidelines. We’ll do games to replace dancing and we did our seating chart by household or ppl who are around each other but we are concerned for another shutdown. That’s the only thing that is truly out of our hands.

Ours is April 22 2021 — We decided to cut our guest list and make it extra intimate! Feeling so relieved and not stressed for the first time since last March lol

Love the games idea, we are definitely concerned about dancing. Cant find what the rules are in my state and even if it is allowed, dont know if its a good idea to have it anyway

Our wedding is May 22, 2021. We are planning as if nothing is happening, currently guest list is at 230, the stupid state restriction is 250, by the time the wedding comes along I know we will probably only have half of the guest list or just under 200. I'm not adding any stress to my wedding planning right now. We are going to marry in the church and reception is outside covered open pole barn. We will plan accordingly come closer to the wedding.

I did see the idea of hand sanitizer and will be getting some.

Mines is April 30 2021. I am starting to worry. I thought we would have the virus controlled by now. I am trying to stay optimistic. It's so heart breaking because it just will not be the wedding I had dreamed of.
