May 5, 2023 Wedding + So many questions!

Marie, on January 12, 2022 at 12:12 PM Posted in Planning 0 2
Hi all!
I am here overwhelmed with wedding stuff (Lancaster, PA, 5-5-2023!) and figured posting here may help😅. We have booked: a venue/in-house caterer, a day-of planner, and a florist.
I am curious what other brides’ thoughts are for my Bachelorette weekend. I want to plan it (with my 2 MOHs) for either August 2022 orrr September 2022 because I really want to have a beach bach in NJ, my favorite place, and plus it will more affordable and easy to travel to for everyone involved. It’s way earlier than our wedding date but that doesn’t matter, right? Or does it? Just curious although I am pretty set on that decision.I’m also wondering about paying for bridesmaids hair and makeup. I don’t want to be cheap or come across as ungrateful but I also don’t necessarily think the bride paying for that is entirely necessary. I’d like to give them a nice gift or something, as well as give them some thoughtful gift baskets at bachelorette! Maybe just pay for wedding hair? Idk. I just don’t know if it’s necessary to have everyone get their hair AND makeup paid for. Thanks so much,Marie

Bach date doesn't matter! My FH did his like 6 months before the wedding because thats what worked best. Mine was supposed to be 8 months before (but covid :/) and is not 6 weeks before. Typically if you are requiring hair and makeup you should pay (maybe instead of gift bags?) but if it is optional, it is 100% okay to have them pay. I am having it be optional and made sure to ask for their price ranges before booking a HMUA so they aren't spending what they dont want to on that. Have fun planning!

I like the idea of making hair and makeup optional. I know I have really thick hair and would prefer for it not to be done by a random person who’s not familiar with my hair. I also don’t wear too much makeup so I would probably prefer to do it myself.

If you give them the option and they choose to do it then they will know up front that they have to pay. If they don’t want to for either personal reasons or financial reasons then they can just do their own hair and makeup.
Unless you really want everyone’s hair and makeup a certain way! Then perhaps offer to pay for it
