May 9 Reschedules?

Amy, on March 19, 2020 at 9:50 AM Posted in California Planning 0 7
Are any other May 9 brides rescheduling their weddings? That date is technically right after the 8 week mark on no gatherings of 50+ people, but we just worry people won’t come. If you are changing your date, how far are you pushing it back?

We are in the Central Valley of California and if any other brides in the area are doing the same, I would love some insight. My heart goes out to all the brides right now!

Yes, we did the right and safe thing and rescheduled to May 9th - wasn’t even a question for us.

We are calling our venue again in 2-3 weeks and if they are still open and willing to move forward then so will we. If the situation worsens then we will be postponing

I would postpone and get a new date! Even if the ban on number of people gathering is technically lifted by then, things will still be very far from normal. So sorry you have to go through this Smiley sad

We are trying to figure out what to do with our May 23 wedding. Like others have said, even if the ban is lifted, things won't be normal at all. We may end up doing a tiny wedding with 27 people and then receptions around the country with family afterwards.

I haven’t cancelled yet. If people just do what they are told, we should be ok by then. Just keep in contact with hour venue. Mine is working on gathering information right now because we just got our first cases here (Dallas county but having it in Collin county in Texas). Well will all just have to play it by ear and take extra precautions.

My wedding is May16th. Im only having 50 ppl coming but that doesnt include all the vendors and staff at our venue. I am waiting until 1 month before the wedding to decide if we will be postponing our wedding or keeping our date. and at that time I am planning on contacting our vendors to confirm their presence. These times are crazy! Just think down the road this is going to be a crazy story to tell!

Please reconsider - this falls with the suggested CDC guidelines.
