May 9 wedding-covid-19

The panic has officially set in today with the news saying this could last until August and people saying I may need to postpone is sending me over the edge. Is it so wrong to be upset bc you have worked so hard to plan your perfect day and honeymoon and it’s all so close to being here but also so close to possibly being moved back? I feel like I am about to lose my mind... I feel like I just needed to share my frustration with other brides also freaking out and maybe some words to ease my anxiety 😅

May 9th wedding here! about 130 guests with an all outdoor ceremony and reception in middle Georgia... I have open communication with my venue and vendors and everything is still good... we are still having it and everyone is taking proper precautions... I say if you don't have to move your wedding then don't, if everyone who is coming is healthy and its 8 weeks away, I have a good feelings things will simmer down... its a bad flu, like they aren't going to kill it. We can't let this rule us, trust me our weddings will be great!

Between the military and the cdc, I officially postponed my wedding today. There comes a time when it turns selfish. I wasnt about to put my family in danger. Do I agree with total lockdowns....no. I also understand who will be harmed if somehow it does happen and I cannot talk myself into it. My vendors were extremely easy to deal with when I talked to them about moving my date. I'm under a 75 mile radius quarantine so no matter what I will not make my wedding.
To each their own. I truly hope you dont have to reschedule but make sure you at least think it all the way through

Thank you! That makes me feel better. I have been hoping that maybe it will slow down by May but I am also aware of how fast things could change. I’m trying to stay positive. I live in middle TN and so far there are no confirmed cases in any counties around us. Hopefully we will both get to have beautiful weddings May 9th!

Currently we aren’t in any quarantine where I live yet but I am aware that it could change any day. I just don’t want to jump to any conclusion to early and go thru all the stress with vendors and the Airlines and the resort if things do slow down by then.

May 9th as well in the ct area where they put up a 50 person ban. I'm only supposed to have 75 people but I'm just hoping this ban will be lifted possibly by the 9th..... fingers crossed. I, like many else I'm sure have just been in tears for the majority of this month. I feel so lost. No one has cancelled yet so I'm holding on to my last bit of hope.

Trust me I get it. It killed me making all the calls today. I lost my honeymoon last week bc the Secretary of Defense put a 60 day restriction on us. We are under stricter rules right now than most. It has taken a toll....I hope you get to have yours go on without a hitch!

As long as we can get into city hall to get a marriage license, we also plan on eloping on 5/9 - it’s still our wedding date, just more intimate ❤️

I also thought about doing this if we cannot have it at our venue just going to the court house and having a ceremony just the two of us on our honeymoon and maybe celebrate with family after. I just talked to the venue and so far they haven’t canceled any may weddings 🤞🏼

Hi girly our wedding is May 9th also. Our venue closed down due to the bar and restaurants are closed. We still have the date for May 9th in place if they up lift the restrictions but if they dont we have a back up day for August 8th. We still plan on getting married on May 9th if the restrictions are not lifted we will just meet our officiant at her office and have her do a celebration ceremony on our new date. The best thing to do is have a postpone date that all your vendors will be available to do. Good luck
