May beach wedding

Jessica, on January 16, 2021 at 10:11 AM Posted in Planning 0 12
Hey all! Due to corona my wedding of 80+ has been downgraded to parents only. Im going to have a beach wedding with us only and parents. Due to recent change I have to plan everything over. Start fresh. Scared is a good way of putting it! All hotels i contact only allow big weddings with reception and ceremony. Any suggestions on how to get this done?!?!

Can you do the ceremony on the beach and then have dinner at a local restaurant?

That's what I would like to do! I live in Ohio and want a beach wedding in Florida but struggling to find a hotel willing to take on such a small wedding. Im not familiar with anyone who does hair and make up down there either and all the hotels are no help either.

I doubt you’ll be able to get married through the hotel if you only have a few guests. I would use the vendor tab on here to try and find hair/makeup and an officiant. Use google and review sites like Yelp or opentable for the restaurant.

Hi Jessica! Fear not- we had 10 days to find a new ceremony site and complete redesign and we made it happen!! Loved it too ❤️ Wedding pop ups are really popular - these are companies who do decor, catering, etc. and come to the beach to setup, park, and backyards. They often specialize in small weddings. A beautiful table on the beach would be breathtaking for your reception!

I appreciate your positivity! If it were in a place I knew I think I'd be good. Just not knowing if what these companies are saying is true or not is what scares me. One can always read a review but lord im scared to plan all this!

I can totally understand that! ❤️ You want to make sure you can trust to ensure it goes smoothly! If I were you, I would call the chamber of commerce in your Florida destination area and ask for recommendations. Each town has a Chamber of Commerce that knows businesses in the area and have relationships with them, I’ve done it myself and have gotten good referrals.

Here is a company that may be worth exploring- https://www.cherishedceremonies.com/pop-up-wedding.html
Wish you luck and keep us posted!! ❤️❤️❤️

I don't think you are going to be able to have such a small wedding at a hotel. If you do manage to find a hotel most have food and beverage minimums. We got married at a hotel and had to pay at least $7,000 in food and beverages.

We scrapped our original wedding and will be eloping beachside in July. There were a ton of AirBNBs on the Oregon coast so we narrowed by considering our date, travel time, and the view. Once we settled down on our AirBNB, everything else started to fall into place. We talked to our elopement photographer about the location change. We decided that since it’s just us, we’d like to bake and decorate our own wedding cake for fun. Found where my fiancé’s tux will be rented from and got a quote for dress alterations.
Once you get the location, everything else seems to work itself out quickly.

Look up beaches in Florida near where you want to go. You don’t need a hotel to get married there, especially if you just have your parents. Just get an officiant and get married on a public beach. Then go to a restaurant with parents to celebrate. I’d probably try to go to a beach at the end of the day or early morning so you don’t have to deal with too many people and it can feel a little bit more private.
Something else to look into is getting an Airbnb on the beach. It might be expensive to have something right on the beach but it would be more private, and you could always pick up food from a restaurant and eat it at the Airbnb together
