May brides - with all that’s going on in the world, what are you doing about your wedding? Did you have to post-pone or cancel? Did people stop RSVP’ing? We talked to our venue and for now everything should be proceeding for our May 17 date but the planning and excitement has lost its fizzle :/ my fiancé’s grandparents who he is so close with and I am too won’t be able to attend any wedding festivities due to their age. We don’t know what to do and we’re just taking it day by day and not making any decisions yet!

I just made the decision to postpone our May 23 wedding to late August. I'm lucky - all of my vendors are available, including the venue, and all of my key guests and family members are on board. I know many brides are in tougher situations than I am and I am keeping everyone close to my heart as this crisis evolves, and eventually, resolves. STAY HEALTHY EVERYONE!

Thank you! Yea I would definitely call, nothing was posted on their website. We are just now trying to see who is all coming to our wedding, my fiance's family is all in California and they are waiting for a couple of weeks to decide if they are going to fly or just drive...flights our very cheap right now $109 round trip for 2! But, they are leaning towards driving...safer for them! My soon to be mother n law is a nurse, so she knows what's best for them. Iam very happy are venues and vendors are all still onboard! I hope it stays that way. They say ohio will peak by middle April, so I pray it then starts settling down and starts to decrease after the middle of April to May and it gets better by May 1st...we start seeing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! Keeping Faith and Prayers are getting me through this!

Thank you for sharing your experience Joyce, it makes me encouraged that these weird feelings were completely valid. I might have taken a leaf out of your book and mourned with some carb filled, greasy food and shopping haha.

I was able to open up to one of my bridesmaids of my feelings and she immediately made a checklist of what I should be doing for Plan B (i am soooo grateful for good friends).
I'm glad to report that within hours I was able to pick an alternate date for wedding and confirmed with ALL vendors that should May 16 not happen, my alternate wedding date is available.
So even though feelings of helplessness threatened to pull me under, I was shown that all things will work out.
Keep your chin up everyone, we will make it through this weird time.

Thanks so much for the suggestion, but thankfully won’t have to use it. Found out that starting next week they will be setting up appointments for marriage licenses two days a week in the mornings at a tent/outside the building!

Good that they think Ohio will peak in mid-April and to start decreasing after that. Best wishes to you and your family on the rest of the wedding planning. I can definitely understand the struggle of deciding how to travel. We’re concerned some of my fiancé’s family in the VA/MD and NYC area won’t be able to make it.

We were just going to keep May 16th, but we decided that we should postpone to Aug or Sept. After contacting venues and vendors everything is booked! So now we decided to say screw it, we are getting married on our original date May 16th and if none shows up..oh well! Dont care anymore! We got our marriage license two weeks ago anyways! For sure a shitshow! No kidding lol

Yea, it's very hard. We were thinking about postponing ours til Aug or Sept, cause of everything going on even though we got our license. We would just another one. But, after looking into it, everything is booked and we dont have any other choice. My grandfather is in his 90s so there's no way I want to wait to next year. So, its May 16th no matter who shows up. I feel bad for every bride, this is devastating and very upsetting! Makes you feel you've done all the planning for nothing! I wish you and your fiance the best and I'll keep you in my Prayers!

Our wedding day is May 16th as well. At this point I’m not sure what to do. I really don’t see things getting better but I’m trying to hang onto hope. My FH and I haves talked about a plan B which is getting married on our original date and then this time next year have a year one vow renewal and have the full ceremony/reception. But today I have found out some of my vendors are not available next May. I’m totally lost on what to do. I’ve been upset and crying for days about this.

My wedding date is also on May 16th. I am holding onto hope, there are still a 40ish days left! Plenty of time for changes to be made! The stress is real though. It's hard to keep planning while not knowing how many will show up if any at all when needing to get centerpieces amongst other things. The venue is being very flexible, thankfully. They said they will remain open. Vendors are also open to being apart of the wedding as well still. Very hopeful can keep the May 16th date and go through with everything as planned even if the guest list gets cut in half.

Hi my date is the same day as yours! Are you still holding on to it or did you postpone? I would love someone else's opinion. Most of my guests are in town, so everyone is still RSVPing hoping it will happen. What are your thoughts??

We officially postponed ours to August 2020! We’re in California and there’s no way a wedding would be happening most of our guests wouldn’t attend and we want to celebrate with our friends and family when people feel a little bit more at ease we feel a lot better now and we got to keep all our vendors Smiley smile we still plan to elope just us on our original date!!

Hi, we are still having our wedding May 16th. I have had only 4 families say they arent coming. We tried to postpone, but found out that everything is booked for this year, we would have to postpone til next year. Which we arent doing, my grandpa is in his 90s and I dont know how much longer he will be with us. I am his last grandchild to get Married so I want him there. We are only having close family and friends, around 40 guest total. Our Ceremony is outdoors on the lake and our reception hall is a private venue. All of our vendors are on board with our decision too! I still wont relax til the day comes though, still very stressful and taking it day by day!
