May Friday the 13th Wedding, good idea or terrible?

I had a friend get married on a Friday the 13th and one of my coworkers is getting married on Friday August 13th this what. The couple who is already married is still married - do whatever day you want! I don’t suggest doing holiday weekend as it can be more expensive.

Thanks, I defintely needed the confirmation! I was actually quite surprised by fiance's response because I don't think I've ever heard him think like that before. I told my him that I thought it was a bit silly to think that way and I tried to put into perspective that it's just a day and bad luck doesn't have a direct correlation.

I'm not superstitious, so I say go for it. It's just a date. We're getting married 5/20/22, but we toyed with the idea of having it 5/13 and 5/27 also. The only reason we didn't go with 5/13 was because it was the date I thought my 4 year old would graduate Pre-K 4.

I will only be on a Friday every 6 years or so. When we postponed we had an option of Aug 28th or Sept 11th. We picked Aug 28th only because our anniversary on Sept 11th just didn't ring joyous. Sept 11th doesn't bother/upset us we just didn't want it as our anniversary. Friday the 13th is only a "bad" day if you let it become one. Like Michelle said, you've survived plenty!

I was born on Friday the 13th so I think that superstitious stuff is BS. Go for it!

We chose Friday the 13th because my fiancé and I are both superstitious we are out of the ordinary and wanted something unique. We originally wanted to October because it fit the colors we wanted but we decided a 2 year engagement was too long so now we pushed it to May (the only other one we could find).

I don't think there's anything wrong with having it on Friday the 13th, but if your fiancé doesn't like it then why not just go with the 6th? Is there a significant difference between one or the other?

I actually picked May 13th because of it being a Friday the 13th lol. Fiance didn't care as he isn't superstitious but if yours does then maybe a date you both agree on would be better.

We’re getting married on 5/13. .. I just combined our birthdays and got 13! Plus Friday the 13th isn’t a bad omen it’s actually a good luck .

Got engaged on Friday, November 13th, we’re getting married Friday, May 13th. It’s a good number.

Ohhh I wish I was getting married on a Friday the 13th! Never even thought about that. I don't think it's a bad omen at all. It's just another day. I personally would choose the 13th over the Memorial Day weekend date for many reasons. One being that if you have any military in your family or friends, that weekend is not always easy for them as they often have lost many of their closest friends in war. Second, a lot of people tend to think this is the kickoff to summer and go away, so they won't be there. And third of course, it's more expensive. So I say stick with the 13th!

My wedding is on August 13th which is a Friday . Love is love and the day you get married does not make or break that. Do what makes you happy and what is best for you budget. I say budget because in my experience Friday wedding can also be cheaper to have based on the venue pricing. You got this!

My fiancé loves all the Friday the 13th movies and our anniversary is already May 13th! When we saw it fell on Friday next year we both knew it was meant to be! I’m excited to do some engagement photos with a scary Jason in the background too😂 I say go for it, not bad luck at all

I’m getting married on Friday the 13th (May 13, 2022) because that’s currently already our anniversary! We will be getting married on our 6th anniversary. My event coordinator told me she has good experiences with the 13th so let’s hope!

That’s my wedding date :-). We’re not worried one bit!

I like Fall weddings and thought about October 13, 2023. I am odd but I added 10 (month) and 13 (day) to equal 23 (year).
