Veronica, on April 9, 2020 at 11:10 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5
Welp it finally happened after trying to hold off for as long we could with all the stress anxiety sadness tears and the unknown we have decided to postpone our May 17 to August 16 2020 we honestly feel so much better abojt our new date and hope that everything will be more calmed down by then. It feels like a weight lifted off but we still plan to elope on our I final date just us two ( pending we get our marriage license) any May brides who are now August brides? How are you feeling? Do you still plan to honor your original date?

Hi there! We were originally planning on marrying on May 29th and moved our wedding to August 23rd. I'm still a bit worried about how our wedding will be impacted by the pandemic but relieved we were able to push it to a later date without waiting over a year (albeit a Sunday). We were considering pushing this to May 2021 but we have been planning this for 18 months and don't want to wait more. If there are still significant issues in August, we plan on eloping and having the celebration later in 2021. We haven't considered doing anything for our original May date other than have a nice dinner with wine at home. Fingers crossed that we will be in a better place by August and the wedding will go forward as planned!

I'm sorry, it's a hard call to make. I know what you mean about feeling like a weight has been lifted once you decide though.

We probably won't honor our original date (May 9th) other than maybe me eating lots of ice cream in memory of what I expected to be doing that day. It wasn't a special day when we chose it, it was based on the availability of our main vendors. We're going to try and go to the courthouse once it re-opens, and we're hoping it's in May sometime, because we prefer a May wedding date

Yes girl eat all the ice cream I’ve been drinking a lot of wine probably more than needed and snacking 😭 but it’s been really sad time and trying to get a marriage license has been really tough when there’s only one county open in California where I love issuing marriage licenses still

Thanks! And enjoy your wine too! I might have to add some of that to my plans Smiley laugh It is really sad, I keep trying to tell myself it could be worse but after planning so much it's tough to give up! Good luck getting the marriage license!

I'm so glad you feel better after rescheduling Veronica!!

I would definitely still celebrate your original wedding date! You could cook a special dinner or dessert at home and have an intimate date night! Smiley heart
