I havent been up here in a while, just wanted some advice from some ladies who are married and have joined families. I am on my way to divorce because I dont know what else to do in this matter. Me and my husband both have children and one together. He treats my children one way which is strict (my kids live with us) and when his kids come over which is once a week he lets them do whatever they want, and my childern have asked me why so I address it to him but it just ends in an argument. He thinks I dont like his kids but thats not the issue, he says mine are spoiled and ask like babies but his are the same so what am I to do, ignore my kids concerns to keep my marriage or seperate because my kids are unhappy? Please help me out ladies

I also hope you work it out.

But first I think you need to figure out what exactly you want to do. You don't want to lose your husband, but you would want to leave are two mutually exclusive options.

His threatening to leave everytime you have an argument is a way to control you and get his way. Do you really want to be with someone that threatens to leave everytime you disagree? Life is full of disagreements and what does that say about how he really feels about you if he wants to leave everytime he doesn't get his way.

As far as the kids.....my philosophy is.....men come and go but your kids are your kids forever. How you handle this situation might forever change your relationship with your kids if you stay with him and he doesn't change. You need to ask yourself which means more?

"I'm not secure and he doesn't get that"

Oh, he gets it alright and knows exactly what buttons to push to get his way. He threatens to separate knowing that you have no where to go.

    Insist on family counseling.

I would suggest counselling (both family and couples) as well. Sometimes it is hard for two people to work out a problem because each is busy trying to be heard instead of listening or feelings are hurt and that is all that can be seen. It helps to have a professional neutral paty sort of mediate the discussion. I wouldn't give up so soon yet.

Would you mind if I show your post to a friend of mine. We were talking this morning about church and she said that she would probably beat me to the alter because she doesn't want to keep sinning with the man she is with. They have only been together about 6 months. I tried to make a point to her that yes Paul said it is better to be married than to burn bbut does that mean we should marry just so that we are not sinning? Wouldn't it be easier to stop sinning then to be stuck in a marriage you shouldn't have gotten into so you can have sex? I'm not saying this is your case, I understand you love your husband but I want her to see (con't

The problems that can arise if she rushes into a marriage simply because she doesn't want to sin.
