I had some time after my dentist appt the other day and snuck into a bridal shop to try on dresses for the first time ever. I’m going dress shopping this weekend with the girls, but needed an idea of what to expect beforehand. I’m on the shorter side in height and when I showed my FH this picture of me vs the model, he laughed!! Granted, I was not wearing any shoes and was not standing on any platform. But still, how rude! Smiley xd

Shorter brides (around 5’-3”), what dress style did you choose? Please show me your dress!

I love this dress, and it’s so pretty on you. I’m just afraid of getting lost in a dress or looking short and chunky in something form fitting.

Ugh, I love this dress, too! And it also looks great on you. I will definitely need to try on a trumpet style dress tomorrow.

My vote is for dress #2. It fits you so much nicer than the first one.

Being 5'3 I totally understand, heel if you can rock a 3in heel or higher for your wedding that will help. As well most dress come long as all heck so the will have to be altered at the heel to have that floating affect. And after the ceremony you have the dress put up so you can walk and not worry about people stepping on your train. I love the dress on you, once you find your dress and have that moment everything else doesn't matter. You will find the shoes to match and the veil that works that make the whole outfit even more perfect

I read liked the lace on it. The 1st one looks terrible on me because it was 4 sizes to big. I tried on the same silhouette from that Designer in a different dress and it looked so much better.

5'2 on a good day. And this is my db wedding dress before alteratiomd. The train is long, but the dress was but for some 6 foot tall Amazonian woman.

You look great!! I’m also 5’1” but haven’t started looking. But like you, I don’t like tight dresses (also I’m going zip lining after) so I’m trying for A-line as well

I’m 5’3 and chose a sweetheart trumpet styled dress. I had my first fitting last week and she needs to hem it. It has beautiful scalloped lace on it, so it’s extra expensive because she needs to take it off, hem it and then reattach it. I also have 5” heels too!

I’m 4’10”. I’m actually have my dress made because I’m big up top. It will be a flown a line since we’re having a beach wedding. I don’t have pics since it’s not done, but so far it’s awesome! Having one made was my fiancé’s insistence lol.

I’m 5”2 and I got a lace mermaid shaped dress (it looked very similar to the one you tried in actually!) and I love it. If you’re afraid of losing the lace or anything ask for a “hollow to hem” that way they make the dress for a shorter person and I think the proportions are a little better. I didn’t even need to hem mine at al!

Hey thanks! I’ll make sure to mention “hollow to hem” tomorrow. High five on not needing to hem your dress!

I'm 5'2" and I preferred a mermaid/dropped waist on me. I tried on a poofy dress and it did nothing for me haha. No ballgowns or poof for me!!
