Meal Prep

Nicole, on April 8, 2017 at 7:07 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 15

Anyone else do meal prep as a way to eat healthy and maybe loose some weight in the process? Have any healthy recipes they'd like to share? I did my prep a few days ago. 40 meals that I will feeeze and have for dinner (FH works swings so I don't want to cook for just me). Salads for lunch, fruit, almonds and hummus with bell peppers for snacking!

That looks great! I'm always so impressed when people do this and stick with it. When I try planning ahead, what I made is the last thing I want to eat when it comes time to eat it.

This display is impressive. It looks well worth the effort you put in!

I usually only meal prep my breakfasts and both of our lunches.

Well done! I prep breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks weekly on Sunday. Prep is half the battle as far as I'm concerned. Nothing defeats me faster than walking in to no food after a long day of work.

    I meal prep weekly.

And I cook bacon and eggs for dinner- so really it's just lunches.

I've found freezing isn't as productive- the meals never taste as good- so I just do week to week prepping.

I.E. good luck eating all of that- it does look super tasty!

Thanks! FH helped. We cook together on days off so it mixes it up a bit.

I meal prep every Sunday for the week - I have found freezing never works out well so I usually do it by the week! My go to lunch is always a Greek chicken salad with mixed greens, grilled chicken, carmailzed onion, and feta, then either Greek dressing and some hummus and bell pepper on the side! OR burrito bowls are always a great option with quinoa, roasted onions and bell pepper, black beans, corn, Salsa, shredded lettuce, chicken, and ALL the cheese!!

One thing I have found that freezes well is mini turkey meatloaf - I cook them in muffin tins! Super easy to make too; ground turkey, eggs, steel cut oats, graded zucchini and carrot, onion, then a tiny bit of ketchup. Throw it in the oven and there ya go!

I prep every Sunday for the week ahead. I make oat and banana waffle batter for the breakfast and then do salads and protein for lunches - dinners I put together as much as I can so that dinners take no more than 30 minutes each night.

What are some of the meals you prep? Also where does one get containers like that? This is a system I defiantly want to get into

We "meal prep" every week or atleast try to. FH and I do this together, cook a bunch of chicken, rice and different veggies. Would love to do more and different recipes. However FH is the pickiest eater ever!

Holy shit that is a looooooot of plastic.

How much fridge/freezer space do you have that you can prep all of this at one time? That is bonkers but good for you!!

I meal prep for the work week so I have containers for my 3 16 hour shifts ready to go plus I pack some healthy snacks as well. If you need a good organizing bag Isolator fitness has some and they are well priced vs 6pack bags
