Hi everyone, I really just need to vent because I feel silly for even feeling this way.. my soon to be sister-in law plus one (who I don’t care for to begin with) only eats chicken nuggets and fries.. he’s 21 years old. We are having no children at the wedding except one because my fiancés cousin will be 7 at the time and all my cousins are over the age of 35. Anyone under the age of 10 will get nuggets as their meal. He won’t pick a meal because he won’t be getting the nuggets. Am I wrong for feeling mad that not even for one day will he have a different food for our wedding and I don’t wanna give him nuggets?

I agree. I wouldn't get so entangled with the idea of a grown man wanting nuggets and fries. there will be other (more important) things to worry about as she continues to plan her happy day.

I agree, you can’t worry about dictating the life of a person you don’t like on a day like your wedding. That’s just wasted energy you could put towards other aspects of the wedding that aren’t a stressor. It’s not worth it. Let him eat the nuggets and enjoy your day. He doesn’t matter, you’re making him matter. Eat cake and be merry. ~Cheers!

I would pick a meal for him, and if he doesn’t eat then too bad. Your wedding is about you, not him. I would not cater to such a childish snob by giving him what he wants. Time for him to grow up

I wouldn’t give him the option of choosing the childrens meal, as he is not a child. However, I WOULD leave a section on the RSVP to note any dietary concerns and accommodations. If he has an allergy, sensory issue, or something that prevents him from eating the adult meal he can note that and you can share it with your caterer. If he just refuses to eat anything but nuggets…. He’ll go hungry until the cake!

If you haven’t already done so make sure the venue will allow an adult to select from the kids menu. My venue only allow 10 under to eat from the kids menu??

You can pay full price for a meal he won't eat, or pay full price for nuggets he will eat. This is not a big deal, and it's gracious hosting to accommodate him. It doesn't impact you. The why is irrelevant.
