Measuring Fabric Needed for Arbor

Allison, on September 24, 2018 at 7:45 PM Posted in Style and Décor 2 3
We are getting married in front of a wedding arbor that is about 8 feet tall and 4 feet long across the top. We are going for a rustic chic look and do not want heavy fabric around the arbor, just something floaty. We’re using 58-inch wide chiffon & it comes in 10 yard bolts. The first picture shows the “floaty” look we’re going for but we don’t want the drape overhead quite that low-more like the second picture. Should I get just 1 of the 10 yard (30 feet) bolts for a look like these or should I get 2 bolts?

One 10 yard bolt should be 30 feet of fabric...if your arch is 8 feet tall and 4 feet wide you should need 8+8+4 = 20 feet. That will give you an extra 10 feet to have a droop on the top and some puddling on the bottom. I think that one would be fine.

    Hey Allison!

Fabric draped over an arbor is one of my favorite wedding looks! I just did the math out and I also think you'll be fine with one 10 yard bolt!! It should still give you some extra fabric to play with but not so much that it has to hang as low as the first picture!!

Will you hang any flowers on it too, like the pictures?!
