Menu Cards for a Buffet Dinner?

Jessica, on March 21, 2012 at 12:09 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 6

I looked at the past forums for this topic and for the most part the ladies were saying it isn't necessary/needed, esp. if you don't have the budget for it. Thanks to all of the vistaprint links, I've seen where I can use the free rack cards as menu cards. Now that price isn't a factor, is it still unnecessary? I love the idea of having them, just to add a little more to the table decorations. Also, they would include all of the food for the night, not just the buffet dinner. Thanks in advance!

Both FH and I have parents from the south. With that said, approximately 80% of your guest are southern, so have fancy food will not go over to well. We are having a southern buffet. Each guest will receive a menu card which will provide description of all the food being served. Because we have people with food allergies and special diets, all of the food and special ingredients will be listed (i.e. additional ingredients in dressing is sausage, potato salad with/without eggs, etc.)

I think its a fantastic idea! I know of people that like to plan out what they are going to eat so this would give them time to peruse the menu instead of holding up the buffet line looking to see whats offered!!

    Thank you ladies!

@ Andrea K, I never thought about it that way! My guest list isn't super big (about 120) but either way, I'm sure they don't want to be waiting long to get their food and the menu cards will probably speed up the process for the most part (unless they're like me, I will try a little bit of everything lol). Thanks for that outlook!

I'm doing a chalk board on an easle next to the buffet tables that lists the menu for the evening. When I'm done I'll probably donate the chalk board to a childrens center or something like that.
