Menu on the wedding website?

J, on November 7, 2014 at 2:12 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

We are doing traditional mailed RSVP's that include dinner options on a separate card (beef, chicken, vegetarian). Should we put the full menu on our wedding website so guests know what they're ordering?

TIA

We did a buffet and we did not put the menu on our website. I think if you list those three options beef, chicken, vegetarian then that would be enough. Maybe you could add a little more detail to the vegetarian so people know if its pasta or salad or what.

I didn't want to put our menu on the website because I didn't want anyone to start telling me "I don't like this" or "Can you have this?".

Good idea - we are doing a taste of Chicago meal. I cannot decide if I want it to be a surprise or if its a good idea to tip people off.

I dunno, I think when you're asking people to choose a meal ahead of time they may want to know more than just what the main protein/non-protein choice is. I'd try to get an insert with the dish details or something that says "refer to the website for more details" or something along those lines. Maybe I hate mushrooms and the beef dish comes with mushrooms and the chicken doesn't? Definitely good information for me to have when making my choice.

I wouldn't. I also put the meal choice on the rsvp and they already picked out what they want to eat. It's not necessary for them to see what else they could have picked.

We're doing a plated meal... And our Save the Dates have our wedding website info with them as well as the invites... So guests would be able to see before responding. Just wasn't sure, like some others have mentioned here, if it's nice to give guests the full choices before they have to RSVP, incase there's something on the meat that they don't care for Smiley smile

    Thanks again!

We are doing a buffet. I am not having an option for them to choose which meat they would like. Would you go about putting the menu on your website and where would you include it?
