Mercury Glass Centerpiece - DIY -- ALL DONE!!!! UPDATE

Kellie, on March 29, 2013 at 2:58 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 17

So several weeks back I posted a thread asking for help with DIY mercury glass vases . . my Auntie is doing mine and I'm so happy with how they turned out. I'm attaching 3 pics -- the before, the after and the flowers that will fill them. :-) I'll re-post when they are all done!

UPDATE: The last picture is one with flowers, some of the bouquets, flower girl basket -- and I LOVE THEM!

Ooooo I love them! I just starting picking up my first few items at thrift stores because I'm planning something similar, centerpieces and cupcake platters. Did she use the krylon looking glass spray paint and a water spray bottle? That's the method I keep seeing adt the one I was going to try first.

Sorry Ladies i went up to the mountains and just got home! The vases are in south dakota and I'm in Colorado . . So ill have my auntie send more pictures. She used the Krylon Looking Glass spray 5 lite coats on the inside and one coat on outside. then she sprayed with a vinegar/water spray (equal parts) and rubbed with a cloth for the vintage look. Then she used gold spray paint to finish the look. I wish I could say I helped . . They turned out so awesome.
