My official apologies to the royal family for mentioning Meghan Markle twice today - but it's got to be said. Smiley tongue I thought intentionally messy buns were just a thing you obsessed over in middle school, but apparently they are also a style you shell out big bucks for on your wedding day! While I'm very glad we've moved away from over-styled prom-like hairstyles (especially for bridesmaids), I'm not sure how I feel about "I woke up like this" wedding day hair!

Tell me what you think! Messy wedding updos - are you into it or over it ?

I think it depends on the type of wedding, I would like this for the bridal shower or rehearsal dinner.

Love them! I think they are so much more romantic looking than sleek updos

I'm into it if it fits the rest of the wedding

I'm not into the overly messy but more of a lose updo I think is beautiful! Definitely something I'm considering for my look!

I'd say it depends on the style and atmosphere you're going for. I appreciate that an intentionally loose style is easy to maintain, but I'm not a fan of "woke up like this." Loose or whimsical might be better descriptors...

Mine is a messy bun but also not one that looks like I just woke up out of bed. I love it!!

I love it for the reception, you need your hair away from your face to relax and dance freely.

Nope. It’s just not for me but I do like it on others depending on their theme.

If you look good and it goes with your vibe go for it. Personally for me a messy updo never works.

I have a pixie cut, and it will be staying short for the big day. But for my BMs I don't know. Not sure I like the idea of them looking like they've been deliberately dragged through a hedge backwards. So probably an over it as far as wedding trends go...

On the fence - i think that Meghan Markle rocked it, but it was put together to become more messy through the day. I think that the picture in the post is beautiful because its a very laid back look, and her dress also looks laid back/natural. For sparkly dresses, big princess dresses, and elegant mermaid dresses, i think that it requires more structured hair then a messy bun...

Depends on the vibe of the wedding. Personally it’s not my favorite for a bride to have at her wedding

I like "messy" in the sense that it looks loose, not frizzy. The picture looks too messy for me.

My best friend did it for her wedding and she says her only regret was her hair. It looked amazing but became very frizzy as the night went on.

I think it’s up to the bride. I personally won’t be doing it for my wedding. A lot of it depends on your dress, the vibe of your wedding, and your style!

I'm into it! You just have to match it well with the dress and the venue style.
