Microblading

Liz, on August 30, 2019 at 1:50 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 4

Hello! I've been bouncing back and forth between whether I want to do microblading. I've seen pictures and seen people who have gotten them done and love the idea of waking up with almost done brows (even though I heard some people do need a bit of brow powder or brow pencil but its very minimal). I decided I did not want it for my wedding since I will be having a makeup artist and during my trial I did like how she made my brows look.

But for my honeymoon I will be in Maui for a week and since its a beachy environment I wanted to keep my makeup minimal but waterproof as well. I figured maybe getting my brows microbladed would be a good idea.

I have a little over a 2 week gap between my wedding and my honeymoon. My wedding is September 28th and I leave to Maui on October 17th. I was thinking to possibly get my brows microbladed September 30th giving me about 16 days before my trip to Maui.

I heard usually scabbing occurs between days 8 and 10 but usually after the 14 day mark the brows look great. Can anyone share with me their experiences? I just want to make sure I will have minimal maintenance when I go to Maui Smiley smile.

Also I heard when you first get your brows done you have to avoid getting water on them? Anyone know how long this is for? I been hearing mixed things. Some say 24 hours after its done, some say 2 days and others I heard 2 weeks lol.

    Hey Liz!

I totally understand about wanting to have as little maintenance as possible while on vacation! Do you have a beauty salon that you regularly go to for treatments? I definitely think it would be a good idea to drop into them so that you can discuss this with a professional. They will be able to answer all of your questions based on their own personal experience, and will also be able to give you any other services for eyebrows so that you can be sure you are doing what is right for you and your lifestyle!

Hi! I did reach out to a place that specialized in microblading and had lots of reviews and photos. I asked whether a little over 2 weeks was enough time for it to heal and she did say it was enough time but the pigment wouldn't be at 100%. I think I'll decide not to do it and just fill in my brows. I might just try to use Anastasia Dipbrow since I heard that is water-resistant (I know its probably not waterproof). As of right now I use Tarte's Brow Mousse and it works well but I noticed when I get really oily it smudges a bit. Plus I will be in Maui when its warmer so I feel like I'd need a stronger brow product. I looked into WunderBrow but my brow hair/natural hair is really dark so even the black/brown for WunderBrow looks too light for me.

I'm glad that you got a professional opinion about mircoblading.

I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow and it's absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend it! Once you put it on, it doesn't budge for the day😃
