St. Louis, Chicago, in IL and MO. If you're wanting big city stuff! Lots of things to do within a weekend in both places! State capitals are also a good place to go too, again because there's just a lot you can do in a weekend there Smiley smile

Chicago has a ton to do, let me know if you have questions. If you are looking for something quieter, there are a lot of little lake towns in Wisconsin or Michigan (Lake Geneva, Door County, Saugatuck, Benton Harbor, etc)

My sister and her family went to the Ozarks last year and loved it. St Louis is also a fun place.

I'm an East Coaster born and raised and Chicago is one of my favorite places. It's beautiful and friendly and there's tons to do and see.

There are some great recommendations here! It mostly depends on how you want to spend your time. Since it's a mini-moon, if it were me, I would mostly want to relax, in which case I feel like Mackinac Island, Lake Geneva, and door county would be really good options.

However, as a Chicagoan, I must say you could definitely have a fun romantic trip here too- maybe do a dinner cruise on the lake, lots of great museums & shopping, have dinner in the signature room (top floor of the Hancock building- I hear mixed reviews about the food, but the view makes it an incredible experience!) long walk or bike ride on the lakefront or through Millenium/Grant parks, lots of great theater and music. It would obviously be a more active trip, so it just depends on what you're looking for :-)

I second Mackinac! Do not go to Benton Harbor though. My FH works there. It's not a nice town. St. Joseph is nearby and is a much nicer and safer option, but it's also super pricey.

Mackinac island! Stay at the grand hotel! The island is amazing! No cars are allowed on the island minus emergency vehicles. Everything is horse and carriage and they are known for their fudge.

Mackinac island is amazing, haven't been in years though. If you have an idea of where you want to go you may want to tell people, like the beach, mountains that kind of thing. Niagara Falls is nice too! I could name quite a few places

When you post something like this, it's helpful to provide information like: what kind of trip are you looking to take? (camping, luxe hotel, etc.) How long are you going to stay? What are you interested in doing while on your minimoon?

    Help us help you.

Really depends on how far you want to go. Nashville, Memphis. Chicago is pretty in November and December.
