middle and last name usage in invitation

NLeo, on November 23, 2013 at 4:27 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 6

I'm trying to figure out how to word our invitations. Who knew it would be so hard (so many choices!). Both our parents are helping us pay so we are using Mr. and Mrs. John Doe and Mr. and Mrs. James Smith.... I read online that if both parents are listed and our last names are the same, we shouldn't re-list our last names (ie: only include our First and Middle). However, I hate my middle name so I thought about doing First M Last. Does it seem to repetitive to say our last names again? Should I just suck it up and put mine? I like his middle name so I'm torn.

I used our full names.. it was just the way the wording was, I wanted to be very clear on who was who's kid in the case of elderly distant relatives and family friends. How do your parents feel about your middle name? I didn't like mine for a long time (have since gotten used to it), but my mom was very attached to it and would have been hurt if I didn't use it on formal stuff (diplomas, wedding invites, etc.)

I will be using First M Last. And I agree with kahlcara.

On our Save The Dates, I put:

    Angela Marie & Gabriel Andrew

On our invites it will have our full names written out.

I am using our full names but we don't have parents listed on the invite so no problem with wording.

I don't like my middle name either, can't wait to get rid of it when we get married. We did our first and last names in our invitation, but we are paying for it so it's isn't being repeated.
