Military Discounts (Puerto Rico)

Hi everyone! Two questions:
1. My husband and I are dual military, for those who are service members or are military spouses - how do you go about ask if a vendor has a military discount? Sometimes I just feel so eh about asking.

2. Does anyone anyone know of any vendors in Puerto Rico that offer military discount? Or if anyone has experience with bigger hotels (like Marriott) offering a military discount?

My fiancé is a veteran, and he just flat out asks when making hotel reservations if they offer a military or veterans discount. I’m shocked how many people do! (that is in the US though. I don’t know how common it would be in Puerto Rico). And no one is ever offended by him asking- it seems like it is an extremely common question. I would just ask them outright if they offer the discount.

It’s still pretty common in PR since it’s a US territory but I didn’t know if vendors stateside offered it either like hotels and such since I haven’t done any wedding planning before there.

Maybe it’ll feel less weird once I ask the first vendor! 😂

My BIL is a veteran and got married in Orlando and he just straight up asked each vendor he talked to. Most gave one.

So update: I asked my first vendor about a military discount. It was a vendor that we were leaning towards regardless and it just made the pot that much sweeter! We got $100 off our videographer. 😭 Crossing my fingers for more good luck with other vendors!

I’m glad you started asking and got a discount! The major hotels do offer military discounts. You just have to ask.
