It’s my fiancé that’s in the navy but I appreciate you taking the time to say that! I will pass it along!

My FH is in the army and we wed Friday the 16th! We aren't doing a saber arch or anything really military about it besides him and the military guests wearing their uniforms. Smiley smile

Congrats! I’m not doing any of the traditions or anything. I need help with planning it. My fiancé can’t request leave more than a month in advance (which can get canceled) so setting a date is very difficult. We can’t plan anything on deployment because we communicate through emails only.

Yeah, that's tough. I'm sweating bullets because my fiancee is overseas, and he has to take a covid test to enter the US. He tests on Saturday and flies in on Monday... I can't tell you how fast I will have a heart attack if the test comes back positive! it would ruin all of our plans. We put together a traditional wedding wedding in 4 months and have 97 guests attending. When are you looking to get married and how do you want to do it? Courthouse wedding or grand production?

It will be small 50 people MAX. We can’t set a date. My fiancé is in the submarine fleet and things change daily. He can’t get leave more than a month ahead so we can’t set a date. Thus we can’t get a venue or vendors

Hi, did you ever find a solution? I just got engaged last week to a navy man who also serves in a sub, and my current frustration is just that--finding a date. He told me when he talked to whoever it was he needed to talk to, they basically told him "we will try REALLY HARD... but no promises."

Currently planning a wedding with my fiance in Air Force pilot training! He will be finished a few months before our planned date but we made sure that all of our contracts with vendors specified that his military service requirements would allow us to cancel or reschedule if he's not able to take leave. Wedding planning is already stressful enough its even worse with all the unpredictability of military life! We haven't even started planning anything with the honeymoon either since we have no idea how much leave he'll be able to take.

Glad I'm not the only one in this boat! We're doing the same thing! What are y'all doing for your registry?

This is all part of military life. We aren’t really sure if hubby is going to make it to our vow renewal. The military makes it really hard to plan anything. I’m in the process of getting quotes for wedding insurance but, I’m really hoping that I won’t have to use it and everything will be okay. Our big day should be during holiday stand down but they also said they were sending him back home next year but as usual, they got changed and he’s getting extended.

There’s a few home items I want to list but mostly hoping to add some excursions or things like that for our honeymoon. We’ve been living together so we have most of the stuff we already need home wise. What about you guys? I’m always look for some different ideas!

We have asked all of our vendors before we book them if the are comfortable with two week notice to set everything in motion. We have found that most people are actually willing to work with us!

We did find a solution. We are having to ask vendors to waive the change date fee if they are willing and guess when he will be able to get leave and book everyone for that day and go from there. Everyone is clear that we will have as little as 2 weeks notice to know the official date. It’s messy but it’s working

Thanks! I’m so looking forward to retirement and some sort of normalcy when it comes to planning vacations and family time. At this point, our guest numbers keep fluctuating because some of his friends deployment dates keep changing. I’m just happy we survived long enough to be planning a vow renewal. Best of luck to you
