Military Wife - Wedding Registry - Move Cross Country

Kylie, on July 18, 2019 at 7:12 PM Posted in Registry 0 3

I am marrying my best friend in less than a year and he happens to be a marine. He just got stationed in California (Camp Pendleton) and we are from Illinois. We have discussed not having a wedding registry due to many reasons (here are main 2):

1. We will not have housing right away

2. We pay to ship it to California (will get reimbursed but it's a pretty penny out of pocket)

If we were not to have a registry do we word that in our invitation or wedding website or just simply not put one?

Should we state we don't want gifts at all because to the move?

If we were to word it on the invitations or website what would you suggest we say?

Needing advice, please!

Gift information of any sort never goes on the invitation. If anyone asks tell them you aren’t registered anywhere because of the move. You will most likely get cash or checks in a card at the wedding. Also if anyone offers to host a shower you should decline unless you want to have a recipe shower or something like a bridal tea.
