Mimosa Bar - Bridal Shower

Cheyenne, on February 11, 2019 at 6:50 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 5

Hey all!

We are having a DIY mimosa bar at my shower! I was wondering if anyone had done this before - how many guests did you have and how many bottles of champagne did you buy? (We're not buying real champagne, just prosecco lol).

I am thinking any where from 70-95 people showing up. I know not all will drink, but my bridesmaids will be there all day and I'm from an area that likes to drink (small rural farm area - thats all there is to do basically). My mom was going to buy only 6 bottles of wine, but I kind of figure my 8 bridesmaids and I will drink through that 6 alone LOL!

And on the opposite end, how much orange juice/other juice and how much frozen fruit?

Thanks in advanced. I am terrible at party planning (I am helping with my shower - no biggie here!) Thanks. Smiley smile

I haven’t done this for a bridal party but I’ve hosted brunch before. We had 8 people and 4 bottles of champagne and 3 bottles of orange juice. We finished that all.

i would say to be on the safe side : for every 10 people : 2 bottles of champagne and 1 of orange juice

My mom is having a mimosa bar at my shower! This is what she went off of - it's from an article on Country Living:

"You can make 6-8 mimosas out of every standard 750 ml bottle of sparkling wine, so for a party of 20 people where each guest will have two or three drinks we recommend buying about 6-8 bottles of Prosecco. To give guests options, serve four different kinds of juice. Most people will opt for the classic orange and bubbly mix, so stock up on a larger bottle of OJ. Three smaller bottles of juice will be enough for the other varieties. As for the fruit, pick up a few pints of whatever is in season."

Hey Cheyenne! I love DIY mimosa bars, so fun!! I feel like in this case, it's always better to have a little bit more just in case! Are you having wine and beer along with the mimosa bar? If so, I feel like somewhere between 30-35 bottles of prosecco with 10 bottles of orange juice and then maybe 10 bottles of another type of juice! For the fruit, I feel like most people only put one berry in their drink, so just enough for everyone to have one or two berries!

I had one this past weekend, we had about 40ish people maybe more & we went through like 8 bottles I think with 3 different juice flavors. It was a hit!

Thats a LOT of people! 6 bottles is wayyyyy off. I would at the very LEAST, a fully case (24 bottles) is a good start.
