Mini booze bottles?

Jenny, on July 1, 2017 at 8:40 AM Posted in Style and Décor 1 27

I'm planning to give mini bottles of booze as our favors. It's a fairly small wedding (about 75 guests). Has anyone done this before? I'm trying to find my cheapest option! Liquor store..? World Market..?

I wouldn't. We've taken the mini bottles in the past and put them in our liquor cabinet. I just went through the cabinet and tossed all the mini bottles of booze, wine, etc., and all the favor glasses, of which we have 1 or 2 of the same thing.

Make sure it is allowed at your venue. Mine didn't allow any outside alcohol what so ever

My cousin did this and it was great to have them on the table when the bar closed for dinner lol. They did mini bottles of wine, it was great. I took a ton home with me too that people left. I wish I could do it but our venue won't allow it

Not everyone likes the same kind. I wouldn't bother.

I know the general opinion on this site is that favors aren't necessary. We did the stem-less wine glasses with our name/date and they were a big hit. Many of our guests traveled from pretty far. I think they viewed this as a souvenir from their trip. They even asked to bring an extra one back when they heard we had some leftovers (over ordered... afraid of glasses breaking in the shipping process). I guess this would be a "know your audience" thing.

Some venues won't allow outside alcohol and that includes favors so make sure it is allowed first. I wouldn't do it if you have children coming to your wedding, or have separate favors for them.

It's a cute idea but if you are inviting children I would be leery, they can be sneaky or simply not know they can't have it.

I am interested in knowing where people got them as well. We plan to put them in our welcome bags.

Talk to your local liquor stores and see if they're willing to order you what you want. Most will give a discount off the retail price if you're buying a large quantity.

But as PP mentioned, make sure your venue will even allow this. You'll also need to have a way to ensure anyone under 21 doesn't have access to them. Venues can pay hefty fines for underage consumption on their property!

I know people have mentioned to see if your venue allows this, but make sure it is legal in your state too! It is illegal in ours.

Also I hope your wedding is adults only because kids might accidentally think they're for them and teenagers could purposely drink them.

Cute idea! My suggestion would be mini bottles of wine instead of the liquor. You'll get A LOT more for the price. You can get 4 bottles for a little over $5. Whereas, the mini bottles of liquor range from $3-8 depending on the brand.

Total Wine & Walmart sell the mini bottles of Wine. The brand I've seen is Sutter Home. They have all flavors. Good Luck.

Echoing the make sure it's allowed at your venue. Mine doesn't allow any kind of carry in alcohol. Plus, depending on the ages of your guest list, I might not do this just based on that.

Is every single guest 21+ and a drinker? If not, I'd have a non-alcoholic backup available. You also never know if someone is battling addiction or a recovering alcoholic.

We did! We had mini pink mascato wine bottles with wine glasses that had our names on them. We purchased them from our local liquor store. They were a huge hit! (my husband and I also have a wine bottle we are saving for our one year anniversary).

These were the glasses. I do agree with everyone, make sure your venue allows it. Our venue normally doesn't allow people to bring liquor but approved it for the wedding favors.

I'm a liquor manager for a retail store and see ppl doing this all the time! We just got little mason moonshine bottles in and a lady ordered 3 cases for her daughters wedding and is putting personalized labels on the bottles.

As a retail most won't be cheap as we can't control our prices. Check world market, total wines or independent liquor stores who can lower their cost. Most 50ml bottles cost $1.00 each at lots of stores.

Well this was a nice forum to come across since I am thinking of doing the same thing. It never accord to me to ask the venue if it was ok to have as a favor. And I would never had thought to ask the store to order them for me. Thanks you guys
