Mini (honey) Moon Destinations in or near CA?

Chelsea, on February 17, 2020 at 12:42 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 10
We're planning to take a larger trip for our 1 year anniversary but would like to take a smaller trip right after the wedding. Any recommendations in or near CA? (Open to close by states too)

Where in CA are you thinking (Northern or Southern)? Do you and your FS like to do anything in particular (sightsee, relax, outdoor adventuring, etc.)?

We're from Southern CA but are open to NorCal if there's something up there. A nice combo of sightseeing and relaxation would be nice. For reference, we were originally going to do Catalina (and still might) but thought it might be easier to save some $ since the Jazz Fest happens to be the same weekend as our wedding and the prices are a bit higher than usual.

Haha, good to know! I was definitely going to suggest Catalina. What about Yosemite? You could splurge and stay at the Awahnee. It's absolutely gorgeous and totally nice to just relax at the hotel, but you could go hiking around the valley if you want to get up and about. Or, you could got down to SD and stay at Hotel Del Coronado. There's a ton to do in SD, but again, you could relax at the hotel as well.

Thanks! Ironically enough, SD is my hometown lol. I think Yosemite or Catalina are the winners

I'm particularly fond of Yosemite. It's got just enough to be up and active, but it's quiet enough to relax and just enjoy nature.

My husband and I had our honeymoon in Central CA! We stayed in Carmel for one week and there are tons of cute AirBnbs in the area for honeymooners. We also went to Sequoia National Park (near Yosemite) and stayed in a sweet cabin the next week. Spent tons of time in the beautiful outdoors, SO much time relaxing, and ate at so many different and delicious restaurants! We live in Santa Barbara so it was nice not having to travel far for a beautiful and restful vacation.

I was going to suggest Carmel or Lake Tahoe/Truckee! All are beautiful.
