Mini moon destinations in NJ - November wedding

Danielle, on April 7, 2017 at 3:12 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 25

Hi ! My soon to be husband and I will be getting married the week of Thanksgiving so our honeymoon is booked for the end of December after the holidays. I'm looking for some ideas on where to stay for 2-3 nights after our wedding within driving distance from North Jersey. Preferably a cute bed and breakfast somewhere with shops/restaurants/activities.

Thanks for the help!

I don't know how far you're willing to drive but NYC and Philly have cute winter festivals around that time. Warwick, NY is also nice and not too far.

Princeton NJ is lovely that time of year! Tons of little shops, the University you can walk around and they have a great art museum. There is the Nassau Inn and the Peacock Inn in town so you wouldn't have to drive, or a bunch of hotels within a 10 minute drive. You can see a play at McCarter Theater, a walking tour with Princeton Walking Company to see where Einstein lived etc. There are great restaurants and bars too.

Cape May or Spring Lake, NJ. I would say you'll get a great deal on a place to stay and won't have much trouble with traffic or crowds, but I'm honestly not sure how the holiday weekend will affect that. Also look into New Hope, PA.

I was going to say New Hope. I'm from north jersey and that's not far, and has some beautiful inns and places to go.

Cape May! So many places around there for day trips too!

Another idea, it's not a B&B, but for our anniversary weekend, we went to the Grand Cascades Lodge at Crystal Springs. It was beautiful! Not far from other attractions as well.

Woolverton Inn in Stockton, NJ. Right near New Hope/Lambertville. One of the best B&Bs in that area. Breakfast is outstanding. Rooms are very charming and not like someone threw up gingham. Chimney Hill estates is also a really nice B&B. They have suites with Jacuzzis. Breakfast is very good but better at Woolverton. I haven't been to that area in the winter but I'm sure it's beautiful around the holidays.

If you go to that area, you must dine at Marsha Brown and Karla's. both are wonderful.
