Minimal Cost Escort Cards & Table Numbers?

Summer, on May 16, 2018 at 10:56 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 15

Show me your cost-cutting DIYs! I'd really like to do something that looks pricey...thinking possibly buying plain white or mint green stationary and dipping in gold paint but not sure how hard it would be to make it look good - I also really love the look of those carved wood table numbers but I don't want to go over budget to do that...creative solutions or any ideas at all are welcome!

I have thought about doing a board with names instead of cards, but I decided I like the cards better, also easier to change last minute if there's an issue. Thanks!

I bought paper table number tent cards from Michaels and ordered flat escort cards from Basic Invite. I then spray painted owl clips gold and folded them to make stands for the escort cards ( Link on how to do that ). The easiest thing would be to buy escort cards that have a gold foiled look already to save you time and frustration if your DIY doesn't go as planned. I also think your decor is the sum of its parts. My paper table numbers looked "cheaper" on their own, but with the centerpieces and table settings they looked fine.

Just remember that these two items will be used for the tiniest amount of time and will be tossed afterwards. You could buy things you'll be able to use after the wedding (mix and match picture frames for the table numbers) or try to buy previously used table numbers/escort card stands from reselling groups in your area.

I LOVE the idea of spray painted owl clips - I am 98% sure I'm going to do that now, thanks! I may practice with some gold spray paint or possible gold leaf and see how that goes, if I can't get it right no harm done, I'll buy some premade ones. Thank you

Both my partner and I enjoy reading and have been in school for an exceedingly long time, so we will have a book theme. Our plan is to make the escort cards from library book cards, and use book titles as table identifies. You can buy packs in bulk for close to $10. We have estimated a grand total of $50 for our escort cards, and we can use the books as both decoration and identifier!

I bought these at Michaels yesterday and used a coupon. It's a set of 20 card numbers that stand on their own. If saving money is what you're aiming for I don't think diy will be cheaper in this case. If you want more than just a card you can get picture frames at yard sales, thrift store or dollar trees and put these in them.

Sure thing! They're really cheap too; I think they're under $2 for a box of 100 on Amazon.

I'm using the Ikea frames that are 99 cents each and either putting purple craft paper I already have in them or just leaving them empty with silver or white numbers. Like someone else said, these aren't going to be a focal point of my CPs, but they don't need to be. This is an area where I didn't want to spend a lot of money. There are a lot of examples of people spray painting them gold and they look great (don't match my decor though).

My venue comes with table numbers, but some of these are great.

I bought white and gold table numbers cards 1-25 for $5 from Michaels in the wedding section on sale. I then bought the little gold card holders from Amazon, 20 for $10.

We haven't decided if we are going to get a poster from Vista Print made up for the seating chart or if we are going to use traditional escort cards, which are cheap.

Our venue provides table numbers, so we will just use those. I was thinking of doing ones with my/FH's childhood photos, but don't really want to deal with all of that anymore.

And, I just bought simple escort cards from Michael's that are white with a silver border. I think they'll look nice after I print people's names using my home printer.

I ordered my cards from Basic Invite. The link is for their foil selection.

I needed 26 cards. I paid $8 for priority shipping. I ordered on the 3rd, received them on the 10th, getting married on the 20th. Totally saved my sanity for $37.

For table numbers they have printables files that you can download. I opted to use the ones provided by the venue.

This is my plan for table numbers since I’ll be using vases like these. I was going to print out the words, tape to the inside and trace over with paint marker. But I’m getting a cricut for my bday so I’ll just use vinyl now. (Yay).
I’m doing a mirror with table assignments instead of cards, so no help on that side! Lol

Im thinking of doing owl clip place card holders — how big were the clips you used? I went to look today and the only ones I saw were 1 inch ... they seemed so small!
