Minimony Timeline

Kevin, on August 18, 2020 at 1:51 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 2 5
We are going to do a small mini ceremony this year and moved our big wedding to next year. We are going to the same venue and are doing their elopement package it’s three hours we can do the ceremony cake cutting and champagne toast and that’s it in following the covid guidelines. We are confused about the timeline. We figured we would take our photos after the ceremony but since there is no cocktail hour and people can’t really mingle or socialize do we take our photos before during a first look to make it flow better. We only get three hours and that includes the getting ready and set up time. Any ideas ?

Our Reception package is only 2.5 hours but we are not doing any other decorations other than what the venue has for table decor and natural lighting on the seaside dock.

We'll start our ceremony around 7:15am and reception around 745 - 8 and plan to be done by 1030am

Cake cutting being at the end around 10ish. We're not doing any of the other traditions.

We are doing everything after. We’re somewhat traditional in the fact we don’t want a “first look”

I think doing photos before the ceremony would definitely be helpful! You could also try to save them for after your cake-cutting and champagne toast, but you don't want to run out of time!

Our timeline will look something like this:
3:00 arrive, set up and dress on
3:30-4:00ish ceremony with unity ceremony w/us and three kids 4:00 pictures w/wedding party and family; grazing tables open to guests 4:15 bride and groom pictures 4:30-5:30 bride & groom join guests at reception, cake cutting and first dance; event ends and we must be gone by 6:00.
We will have about 30 guests in March. I’d think that your guests would still be able to mingle a little while you take a few pictures, but it will need to be a short photo session. If you are still planning to do cake cutting and bouquet toss then your guests should be able to mingle for a short time as well.
