Minimony

Melissa, on August 29, 2020 at 11:11 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 30
Hello all, I’m doing a minimony next month and want to know about ideas for what music to walk down the isle with. It’s only 20 people I don’t want anything formal or stuffy. I’m clueless lol. Any help is appreciated.

Congratulations! You can walk to anything you want, is there a song that speaks to you? If you want instrumental only, look for piano or orchestra versions of your favorite songs.

Do you have a favorite song? I agree with the previous post that instrumentals is a good idea. That’s what I’m using!

Did you find a wedding instrumental playlist or just find different songs on your own? I’m having a minimony too (only immediate family) and I’m trying to figure out if I need my fiancé’s cousin (who is a dj) to create a ceremony and reception playlist to play through the sound system at the venue or if I can just create the playlist on my own. It seems like it creating my own may be overwhelming.

I found the songs on my own. Once I found the songs I looked around for the instrumentals and created my own playlist

We had 15 guests. Our violinist played Canon D for our processional and it was so lovely. It’s a popular pie d for a wedding.

I just need one song for the ceremony basically, we’re just having dinner somewhere after because our bigger reception is next year hopefully and I’m trying to keep this wedding stress free if I can lol. I’m definitely gonna be looking into an instrumental song.

Ok. Thank you. I think I’ve made myself believe that creating playlists for the ceremony and reception is harder than it is.

You'll need the following: song(s) to play while guests are being seated (pre-ceremony music), song for wedding party to enter to (or just groom and officient), song for bride to enter, song for any special moments like unity candle (if needed), and song to exit (should be upbeat). That's it!

We had a spotify playlist for our minimony that was played through a speaker where one person just hit next. I just googled wedding ceremony music and picked from a few lists I found. Since just our parents were guests, we played songs they like before the ceremony started. Entry songs were instrumentals and exit had lyrics.

Just make sure you like the beginning of the song and that there isn't a long quiet intro. These songs won't play long enough to get to the chorus, so ensure you like the first 30-60 seconds. Oh, some songs have multiple versions and remixes (eg, the wedding march), so listen to different ones and pick the best sound for you!
