Minimoon ideas

Kelsey, on February 20, 2021 at 3:33 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some help with minimoon destinations for mid June in the continental US. Like many people we are pushing back our big honeymoon and planning something smaller for right after the wedding. Both of us should be vaccinated by our wedding but it's still really unclear what travel will look like.

We will be traveling from MN so we are open to anywhere around the country. We are fairly active- love to hike, bike, etc so something that included this would be nice. We're also "nature" people so anything with ocean, mountains, good views, would be a plus. So far, I've been researching Big Sur (seems very expensive), the Keys, and places like Martha's Vineyard but any specific suggestions would be great!

Asheville, NC was absolutely perfect for our mini moon! Hiking, biking, Biltmore Estate; super cheap as we drove from Michigan, so we were able to splurge at our resort, spa, food, etc.

Martha’s Vineyard is beautiful and would be very special for a mini moon! I would also recommend the coast of Maine. You could start in Portland (awesome little city with amazing restaurants) and then head up the coast to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg area is awesome. Lots of hiking, site seeing, etc. do an AirBnB cabin up in the mountains for a nice, secluded honeymoon but still close to stuff to do.

Lake Tahoe would be awesome! There’s a lot of nature activities to do, hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, biking. Now June isn’t always the warmest month, so the lake might still be cool.
There are a lot of cute towns around the lake to look into, Tahoe City, Incline Village, South Lake Tahoe. Or a little further away, Truckee (my favorite).
There are fun things to do too like breweries, casinos, and good restaurants
