Minimoon in Orlando

Jacquatta, on February 28, 2021 at 3:14 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6
Due to COVID my fiancé and I decided to postpone our honeymoon to Jamaica and settle for a minimoon in Orlando. Does anyone have any ideas of some romantic things to do or places to go? My fiancé isn’t really into roller coasters and already declined a trip to island of adventures 😩

Hello Jacquatta - I live in Orlando, and there is plenty to do. Join Orlando Date Night Guide page on Facebook. The site has all kind of romantic suggestions (from restaurants to activities) in Orlando and the surrounding areas. If you like spas, check out Woodhouse Spa or the spa at the Ritz. You will also be an hour away from Tampa to the west and Daytona Beach to the East so you could easily have a beach day.

We did Disney for our honeymoon, and it can be quite romantic. (Epcot is a great choice.) I don't know how full they are right now, but I know they have nice restaurants both on and off site.

It's not romantic, but is something to do, my FH and I LOVE DriveShack down in Orlando! We stumbled across it on a trip down there once. It's kind of like TopGolf (I've never been to TopGolf so I can't talk comparisons) We now go every time we're in the area. They serve food and drinks, so we go and play some games and eat and drink for HOURS cause it's just so much fun!

Epcot is also a fun way to get to explore Disney without feeling like you're missing out cause you're not doing a bunch of rides, when we went he drank around the world while I ate around the world!

Edit to Add: I am not one for roller coasters either (I never get on them) BUT if you can convince him, FH and I really enjoy universal/island of adventure, we always go and just do the stimulation rides since they're not as crazy as the coasters and they're something I (who has a weak stomach) can handle, but it's also fund to walk around and just enjoy the little worlds they created inside these theme parks.

I’ve been to Disney three times during the pandemic and felt very safe at Hollywood studios and animal kingdom. I really like the park reservation system. Magic kingdom felt very crowded to me. However, you can book in advance to have lunch or dinner inside Cinderella’s castle. It’s expensive, but could be a very special honeymoon experience. Epcot would be a great choice to “eat and drink around the world.” The boathouse restaurant at Disney springs is also nice.

Winter Park is just north of Orlando and is super cute! They have a bunch of restaurants along Park Ave (the Main Street) that would be great for a date night. They also have a place called the wine room where you put money on a card and can try 1, 3, or 5 ounces of hundreds of different wines. It’s basically a create your own wine tasting. They also have food. It’s super fun!
Orlando also has one of those fancy Ferris wheels called the Orlando eye (like the London eye or similar in Vegas) where it takes a while to go around and you can buy drinks and see the views.
